I drove Jim's Rolls Royce when i was working in a hotel in the west end. He booked into the hotel Strand Palace, in the early hours, and asked me if i couldpark his car. I couldn't believe the mess inside with the ashtray over flowing, and litter all over the place, ut that didn't other me, it was an honour. This was around late 70s.
J.D.here presents the working class as loverable rouges. But over the last 55years the lower working class have moved from a warm kind of roughness to a scary kind of roughness.London life aint the same.It just aint
Jimʼs a top bloke. Been a pal of mine for well over 30 years now. Terrific stand up comic and an excellent actor too. We've had some cracking good times. A really nice man, very caring, thoughtful and absolutely not stuck up his own balloon knot like so many are nowadays.
Always loved Jim Always will never thought he was racist naturally funny btw I am a person of colour loved his impression of Chalkie my favourite 😂😂😂😂❤
I had a curry with a black friend who went to school with Jim. He said he was sure Chalkie was based on him. He said there was not a racist bone in hus body.
It's not at all easy to be a comedian so I give him credit for getting up there, also I like how he involved Charlie Drake on his shows and got him work doing pantomimes, I think Jim has a kind heart and his humor may be seen to be racial, but its just observation of characters, no where near as racial as some comedians I can think of. I can understand his comment about the Rolls Royce, and cudos for him going back to mum.
You can say what you want but this fella worked his way up and did the hard yards to make it. Many of this country’s comedians today do one season in Edinburgh and suddenly they’re on Channel 4. This humour is real and it’s funny.
I was in a nightclub in Brighton in the mid 1970s and Jim was the act on the show. He asked me to dance before he did his act, and his driver asked my friend to dance. He was a real gentleman, and we had a good chat whilst smooching around the dance floor.
I have never been one of his fans, but the lack of respect he has to put up with now is a disgrace, especially from people who were in their nappies when he won New Faces.
Miranda god help us so called comedian, she should put videos on of great comics jim davidson ,bernard manning carry on films she might learn something .
@@winklton Correct. When he retired, his father went around the country speaking about his son and pointing out the dangers of taking recreational drugs and highlighting a decline in moral standards while promoting his deep belief in Christianity. Heaven knows what his reaction would be now since his parting some twenty years ago. There are uploads available to watch on YT.
He turned into a "see you next Tuesday". Shame because he used to be a very good entertainer, and as this video shows he used to be a nice likeable bloke.
A real comedian , unlike the rubbish woke boring unfunny nasty "comics" that are bitter and twisted we have on TV now with zero talent. He has raised thousands for good causes over the years in particular the armed forces. Well done Jim
@@winklton To me 'funny' equals 'wit'. Stewart Lee is Oxford University educated and his humour is on a much higher intellectual level than Davidson. The calibre of people to whom Lee appeals is much higher than those who find Davidson funny. I find Davidson as funny as a diagnosis of metastatic cancer.
@@winklton It's actually 'YOU'RE in love with' . Getting YOUR YOU'RE right isn't rocket science. It's basic English that a child should grasp with ease. I can be 100% sure that the calibre of people who find Davidson amusing will have a much poorer grasp of the English language than the calibre of people who find Lee amusing. The latter are much more likely to be highly intelligent, educated and cultured.
@@jamesbeggs9733 Not much of a barometer really though is it. People get entertained at Royal Variety Performances but it doesn’t mean they’re any good. Humour is subjective anyway. Just because I don’t like it, it doesn’t mean that a right-wing comparatively uneducated person in their late 60s nursing a serious brain injury and a lot of bitterness won’t. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. How many crowds are there by the way - I thought there would be just the one?
@@jasonlee1483What does 'woke' mean?.I thought it ment someone who wasn't a racist, sexist, jingo type. But people now seem to be using it as a derogatory term...I don't get it
Why ? because he tells it how it is ? He has done a lot for returning serrvice men and women , and went to the Falklands to entertain the troops as well as helping out cother charities, so that is horrible ??? Sorry so wrong.
