Welcome to Dillsboro, North Carolina! Today, the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad Tuckasegee Excursion is stopping for lunch in this charming little town nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains. On the journey from Bryson City to Dillsboro, the train was pulled by two GP38 diesel locomotives; number 2668 and 2335. On the return trip, the train will be pulled by the GSMR's steam locomotive number 1702, which will take us through the valleys and rivers to Bryson City. Today, we will have the opportunity to witness 1702 carry on the legacy of Murphy Branch Steam. So, get ready to turn back the clock and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad.
