Great Southern Copper PLC (LSE:GSCU) managing director Sam Garrett speaks to Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's recent success in raising £1.25 million to continue exploration at the Especularita project in Chile. Despite current headwinds in the sector, this funding reflects strong investor confidence.
Garrett highlighted the support from core shareholders and the addition of new investors, which positions the company well for its upcoming drilling programs. The funds will primarily be used to advance up to six drill-ready projects at Especularita, for which the permitting process has already begun.
Garrett detailed significant progress at several targets within the project. He mentioned high-grade copper and gold results at Teresita and Victoria, noting the exciting potential of these prospects. Additionally, the Victoria prospect has expanded, contributing to a compelling copper-gold story at Lipa and Artemisa.
Garrett emphasised the diverse types of ore deposits at these targets, including a developing porphyry project at Aurelia. He concluded by outlining the news flow investors should anticipate over the next 6 to 12 months, which includes drilling activities that are expected to generate considerable interest.
