Seriously after watching it about five different videos you have the best intro on RU-vid it gives me chills every time PS. Buy that man a steak and a good beer he rocks!!! 110% hero....
That is the first time I've ever seen phong not know how to do something on a car! So I guess now he knows everything I don't think he's the type of person you ever need to show how to do something twice
@@DaveW74TVN totally agreed been a mechanic all my life in a race car driver most of my life and it's amazing what a little tweak to suspension geometry will do to the way a car behaves
Youngstatic, been loving your vids. Hope your healing up good can't wait to see you back to wrenching comfortably. Glad phong has figured out his issues and is making progress toward getting down the track in a straight line.
Seriously..there is a quite a few big names watching Brother Phong.. glad to see u got yourself a mad scientist madder than you brother..Brucey seems like a legit life long friend mate...you two could nerd out on the numbers all day and thats all good lol..seriously though Bruce is a damn legend for this and his skill is nearly a lost artform
I was shocked when you found that it was moving up to 2 inches. No wonder it was so out of control! I'm glad you found the problem and a good solution! Almost time for the Phoenix to fly!
What a nice guy Bruce is to lend you his expertise! We sure do have a lot of nice people here in the racing community. I am proud to be apart of such a great group of people. Congratulations on getting the Phoenix one step closer to being race ready. You are a good dude Phong.
@@brucerobertson443 You’re making a big difference. Not only for Phong, but for all us fans and motor sports enthusiasts. This is what we all live for; to see some great minds collaborate and solve a problem. And a big part of what makes the car community so awesome is that there’s people like you out there willing to help. Thank you for putting in the time and effort!
The day the Phoenix goes straight down the track will be the day I start drinking again I'll stop the next day if I can but I'ma celebrate this one so much hard work from a guy with such a big heart
This video goes to show that as amazing as it is to build and race a car - the absolute best thing about the car culture is the network of people that real car enthusiasts build. The passion and the drive isn't possible or as valuable without the amazing people you meet and interact with on the journey.
These last 2 videos have been a wealth of information that i havent been able to find for years. Thanks Bruce for sharing your expertise with us. I will put what i have learned to good use.
As soon as I saw your firs video with Bruce, I knew you would sort it. Suspension nerds like me love this stuff, it showsthefolks out there how small changes in geometry can make a massive difference. 10 thou per side is great, remember you won't use the full travel on a pass, so it's better again. Good work mate, its another great video, I can't wait to see how the Phoenix reacts now! ...Let's Gooo!👍🏻
I am aware of the process that was used but never seen it done. Thank You Bruce for the lesson and Phong for sharing the experience with us. I cannot wait to see the Phoenix rip! This was awesome!
Hi Phong great work , when you tig weld such thick plate you should bevel it that way you get 100% penetration and even do 2 passes. 1st one you can push filler in, 2nd one weave over it. And it help if you take propane torch and preheat it then it takes less amps to burn it all in. But good job.
Ah you got a dirt car racer helping you, no wonder he's so good with geometry and setup. Keep this gentleman close, dirt racers are amongst the most knowledgeable racers! Can't wait to see you make your first past driving straight, and I have no doubts in my mind with this guy by your side!
I learning lots. I'm glad you've got some help to figure it all out together and you're making massive progress. For cornering, the toe comes out slightly when the spring compresses, so it momentarily relieves the steering tightening feeling over bumps on the outside wheel. For drag, presumably you want the toe staying even throughout the wheel movement range.
Bueatiful job phong and Bruce. The man is a Suspension wizzard! This is so much better now. You should be very proud of the work 👏 The tru test is still on the track but I'm betting a full run is in order now. Congratulations 👏
Love the new start to your videos. Going fast is the true reason we all build cars. No matter where we are all from, I've watched you on PFI channel and now follow you fir your very informative blog and videos.
Bruce is a very helpful and Generous knowledgable dude. Kudos. Phong likes to do it all himself, but you cant be good at everything. I just wish Phong would get the subscribers he deserves.
Great Work Bruce. I have a similar set up for checking camber change throughout the suspension sweep. I made it about 25 year's ago when I was doing alot of set ups on road racing cars. When I started my apprenticeship over 30 years ago one of the first jobs I did was front end alignments. I used to use a old Hunter lite-a-line. Back when doing a alignment involved doing castor, camber and toe adjustments. Not like today when they put on the machine and if it comes up on the monitor in the green they send it. It is great to see someone with knowledge on how to rectify a problem the correct way. Thanks Mate.
Thank you. I was trained on an old bear rack and then worked at a place with a D111 hunter. Old school always wins. I have an asphalt oval track background.
@@brucerobertson443 , thanks for the reply Mate. I have a circuit racing (road racing) background. I have raced mostly in Queensland, but I raced at Bathurst about 15 years ago. I still set up alot of race cars. I specialise in spring rates, roll centres and alignments. Cheers.
Watched both videos never seen this type of suspension setup documented on you tube before Thanks Bruce Robertson and Phong. The Phoenix Should steer so much straighter now should be safer so car can show full potential. Allmotorphong for the win. Keep the Intro Phong explains you and Racing PERFECTLY.
Caster is one of the most overlooked measurements because most don't understand what it is and how much it affects other aspects of steering. Good learning experience right there
Phong your knowledge of hondas has got to be the best ive seen. And i cant wait to see the phoenix ripping it down the track. Im going to say low 9's first hit stright off the trailer. A big HELL BROTHER from the uk.!!! 🏎️🏎️🏎️
Even though I’m not a FWD guy, I’m already way too invested in this car since I seen Brent pick it up from Fuel Tech. You rock Phong! Been watching all the updates 👍
Do good things and good things come to you and I must say Bruce is a blessing and a lost art !! Didnt have to take the Phoenix anywhere or have to worry about using computer aided machines. All hand work and mechanical gauge 🤘🤘💯 cant wait for the first full pull
ahhhh i love the intro phong... you may not know me but i know you... and i am rooting for you! i wish more people in this world were as humble as you... stray positive and keep moving forward, i cant wait to see phoenix make a full pass!!
There is so much to learn from PHONG...man is always thinking and how to make things better and more efficient...I really admire his work ethic, workmanship...man has a pure heart...#go PHOENIX #ALLMOTORPHONGSPEED
@@brucerobertson443 right, keeping it straight is a little less complicated than making it corner. but still you run into issues like this where the geometry does weird things
I bet the tyre would move more than 10 thousands. As soon as you guys started jacking the hub you could see it was a million times better. Good job guys
