There are also some USB hub headers for the Pi Zero (2) W with one Ethernet port + 3 USB to make the system compact. Some hubs are plugged on top of the Pi PCB, some below.

To help with your soldering problems ... use plenty of flux, remember to clean it off with isoproranol afterwards with an old toothbrush and soak up with a rag. Treat yourself to a Pinecil from Pine64, a soldering iron which is amazing value for money and can be run on a power bank!

I bought mine the first day they were released for £13, now you’re lucky to get one under £25. My one gripe with it thus far is the usb c ports and that there’s only two. My old laptop with EndeavourOS wouldn't recognise that amount of drives through an usb extender.

Test hdmi splitter next. Try how many monitors you can hook up to that or even the pi 4. I don't have such monitors to test.

I love having back-powered pi's so I only use one mains plug. It's a shame that the 4 doesn't allow this.

Good video. You might want to duplicate all this on the Raspberry Pi 400. I have been using a USB hub with my 400 for quite some time but there is an issue relating to powering the USB hub. It has always run fine without adding the USB power supply. However when I add the USB power supply and try to boot the 400 it does not boot. As soon as I remove the USB power the 400 boots right up. In fact, if I do not use the USB power, start the boot process for the 400 and then a few seconds after it begins booting I add the USB power it continues to boot and run fine. After the 400 has booted it continues to run with or without USB hub power. So, something is happening at the very start of the 400 boot process that does not like the USB powered up. This is why I suggest trying all this with the 400 just to see if anything happens as it does with me.

Drive-By Booting the whole new Game you can play upon the new Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W. A bit like Jenga come PiRussian Roulette :- you will need USB hubs and USB devices. One by one take turns plugging a device or hub into a free port (if you would fill the last USB port you have to plug in another hub and device) and rebooting. If it crashes, you loose. Fun for all the family over the Christmas holidays. :-)

Pay attention to the recording when showing your setup arround 13:10 onwards ...there is some sort of interference causing the recording to dim/ brighten...intresting....do u have issues with emi? or old/ faulty ground ellectronics?

And why didn’t you divided 10W remaining from Pi PSU by 2W for m2 and 5-6W for ssd/hdd?

I move from esp32 into pi zero 2 for IoT webserver.

I assume you can SSH in USB over ethernet through the hub with other devices connected to the hub at the same time?

It would be very bad if it was usb-c because of compatibily to older projects like the gpi case.

512MB of ram makes a modern desktop difficult to run. This is great for other uses though. I'm sure stuff like motioneye OS will benefit from the boost in CPU power.

I have the pisugar2 pro on my pi4. The pins press against the bottom of the gpio header. Can you really not do that with the zero versions?

I couldn't get the Pi zero to accept more than one USB device (wireless game controller) via a hub. Is that a power issue?

For me it is incomprehensible that we cannot use a Bluetooth keyboard / mouse on Raspberries in general, the PI ZERO in particular. Or I'm wrong ?
