"ASIA"... Another “Supergroup”, featuring bassist/vocalist John Wetton, drummer Carl Palmer, keyboardist Geoff Downes, and guitarist Steve Howe, was the logical successor to their collective bands of the 70s - Yes, ELP, King Crimson, and The Buggles. The group came together in the spring of 1981. Classic Rock with a ton of experience at what they were doing.

its funny. Europe had a far bigger hit with " the final count down" , but we all know ASIA was a vastly superior band. oh well. its the way the ball bounces, I guess.

ASIA 🎸- " SOLE SURVIVOR " 1982 this is from their debut album it's one of Rock n Roll greatest Classics w/Lots of awsome sounds too.

From their debut album (entire album is worth a listen), it was the #1 selling album in the United States for the year 1982.

Asia was super group. The bass player and singer John Wetton was in King Crimson, the drummer Carl Palmer was in Emerson Lake and Palmer, Steve Howe the guitarist was in the band Yes.

Love this band. I've listened to their first two albums Asia and Alpha more times than I can count. My favorite song of theirs is "Sole Survivor" but also recommend "Only Time Will Tell", "Here Comes The Feeling", Don't Cry", "Midnight Sun", The Smile Has Left Your Eyes", "Without You" and "Wildest Dreams" which has a great drum solo by Carl Palmer. Also I'm not trying to be critical, but with older songs try to do studio album versions. Back then a lot of the live performance videos and official music videos cut parts out of the songs.

Most people talk about songs from the first 2 albums, but they had released 12 albums, and had some pretty good songs. The Phoenix album was probably my third favorite album after the first 2.

All true comments..gotta remember that this was the 80s. They had a lot of pressure to just make a hit! I'm sure they wanted to do way more with this..

Nobody has to sit by the phone anymore. I saw Asia in Eugene, Oregon with Journey a few years ago. Both have been my favorites forever.

it was funny, a super group. This was their only hit. another record label instantly put together another group call EUROPE. And the also put out another hit "the final count down" Not a super group but far more people know that song over this one . ~ the more you know ~ 😅🤣😂

Forgotten great album. Unusual for a pop song. It is in 4 x 6, power chords in G while in the song is in the key of D. Too bad you played the video version because the play out in D minor is very good.

JMBOY....... You need to listen to the whole song. Unfortunately this is the EDITED MTV version. This is shortened and messes up Steve Howes great Guitar solo.

In order to avoid the heat of the moment where passion is concerned you have to be DETERMINED in your heart that you are not going to get yourself into a position where that can happen. It is possible I am proof of that and I put God first in my life. And I make sure that God's will is done over my own. NOT EASY BUT DOABLE! 😇❤🎉
