This weeks episode is all about the camo. The three tone Ukraine Air Force Digital camo. This week we apply the paint and camo using the Foxbot masking set. Thank for tuning in.
Just in the process of getting back into modelling after a loooong layoff, and just happen to have bought the same kit, same cockpit set, and same masks, so I'm watching this with a LOT of interest, it's a stunning kit :)
Me too exactly! I used to be a serious model 25 years ago. I had just purchased this kit and it arrived today, Wow! What a fine model kit. I'm still waiting for the cockpit 3D decals and the masking kit but was amazed to find this phenomenal video series.
Nice buddy. Enjoy. Take your time with them if you haven't used them before and it will look awesome. Good luck with it👌👍 (edit) if you have done the Viggen Splinet camo then this will be a walking the Park for you 😁
Brilliant!! been waiting ages for someone to demo using the foxbot masks. I found the instructions confusing when it mentions using masking tape and applying the masks wet??.I now have the confidence to have a go with them on my GWH SU27UB , I bought two sets just in case, some time ago... was going to do the Hobbyboss model but then got the GWH when it came out. Really looking forward to seeing you tackle the metalwork...good luck and thanks again.
Hi Christopher. So, so glad i can help you to confidently tackle the lroject, trust me, if i can do you certainly can. Im no rocket scientist. Keep me updated with how you get on. Im a little daunted with the metal work but i will just do my best with it. Thanks again
Some soapy water always helps aplaying the masks, or window cleaner. It helps us to correct their position. They are more sticky when dry, and can rip easy. Good luck with your kit!👍
The anxiety flowed through me watching you apply the first camo mask, quickly followed pure satisfaction when you removed the dark blue mask... Looking damn good! Definitely made my mind up with the next build,
Thank you so much for the very kind comment. I get huge satisfaction from inspiring people to get building or buy a specific kit and make it their own. Let me K ow how you get on plz
That camo scheme is looking fantastic, you have do e a excellent job, looking forward to the next episode, keep safe and well during these crazy times, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia
Great job on the camo! Really like how the colour combination came out! Many people say rough things about the Revell glue, but it servus it's purpose well. Knowing where to use it makes the difference. Gluing large parts whit big contact surfaces is great, especially if you have a lot of curing time at your disposal. It's not a 2 seconds glue, but it is rather kind with the plastics, an I use it to glue the canopy also. The contacta profesional, does not attack the canopy parts, thus won't make the canopy foggy. Also good for glue the cockpit in place, I found out the hard way that even after curing some glues still got fumes that can later slowly damage the canopy.
Thanks so much for the awesome comment. Yes I agree 100% therr is no issue with this glue asling as yoy knkw what its capable of. Like you say its not a 5 second weld or stick. It takes its sweet time but again, loke you say its kind to the plastic so doesnt cause any sinking or ghost seams. Thanks again
Great work, loving the series. Have added the kit to my stash now. I also really enjoy demasking and applying decals. Just have to finish some house renovations before I can start it.
Looks really good. I love that digital camo. I’m getting almost as much satisfaction of watching you build this as I would building it myself. :) When I last looked for the Foxbot masks, I couldn’t find them anywhere. I sort of forgot about them, but think I need to look again. I’m feeling inspired to try one of these myself. Really nice work!
Hi Frank. Thanks so much for the kind comment. Im delighted your getting satisfaction from watching this kit come together. Thanks again and happy model making 😊
Nice one, I have the Foxbot masks for a Hobbyboss SU.27ub but have been putting off doing it as I wasn't sure where to sart and they are a bit scary. Will now go back and watch the rest of your vids and I have subscribed. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing the Flanker finished.
Hi Martin. I fully agree they seem daunting. I found doing the base blue then just adding the other 2 colours worked for me. Just take your time with them. If i can do it you certainly can. Thanks so much for subscribing, i hope you enjoy the videos. Happy model making 😊
Hi. Thank you 😊 im glad you enjoy my way of doing things. Thanks again means alot to me. If you havnt already hit the like and subscirbe for more less cantankerous waffle 😊
Bang on job mate! It looks awesome 👌. First when I was contemplating my Foxbot sheets I was baffled by how I was going to tackle this process 😳...and came up with exactly the same method as you did, but put it away as a future project. Seeing actually how it goes, it's very nice! As for your future project, I can say that the ZM F-4 series are great. I've built a J version and it's absolutely good. Level of details is great and it builds with no major issues. Only thing that put me off were those stencils, so it's not done yet ! Keep it going with your videos, they are good.
Hi Alex. Thanks so muxh for your kind and encouraging comment. I am very tempted with the ZM F-4. I shall see whats available when this builds draws to a conclusion. The stencils like you will be enough to drive me mad 😊
I love this camo theme, I saw it on google as I was looking for inspiration for my su-27B (it will be "Red One"). You have great skills, you sound very enthusiastic and humble. I'm very curious about your next build, the Phantom, I never saw or built a Zoukei-Mura. I just subscribed.👍
Hi. Many thanks for the kind message. Jope you enjoying your SU-27 build. This one has been good fun. I haven't built a Zoukei-Mura but i hear good things. Hopefully i do it justice. Thanks ever so much for the subscribe. I hope yoy enjoy the channel. Thanks again 👍🙏
Hi Nick. I shall look into theMinibase SU33. Im hearing good things about it. I do love an F-14.....i mean who doesnt im just not a massive fan of monotone grey. Granted I can westher the hell out of it and as a kit it has a vreat presence. Thanks for the suggestions and your support 😁
Hi there from a recent new sub. Mega respect and kudos for this build series ... enjoying every second of it.Truly am !! Mega kudos for it all - even without suffering from any anxiety problems. All the more so given that you battle some anxiety issues. 👍👍 And all delivered in such an appreciative, very modest, extremely humble and such an extremely personable manner, too. You, Sir.... are a great credit to the modelling and You Tube world 👌👌 RESPECT, Sir. 😇😇 The digital cammo, by the way, is looking jaw-droppingly impressive. 👌👌
Hi Mark. Well i dont know where to start here. Thanks ever so much for THE kindest comment. Your comment has truely lifted my day and spurred me on with the build. @@sultanofswing8270 sweet. Brill idea. Habe you had a look at it. Does it look good? I know the Tamiya kit is out in the next couple of months which im sure will be stunning
@@stregasplasticcartel812 I built the F-4D previously and it was simply the best kit built to date, this long nose spook will defo be stunning with the final year livery
Just found your channel and catching up on your builds. I have this kit planned to be built shortly. I'd be interested in Knowing what paint colors you used .. you mentioned H 323 and H156 for the bottom of the fuselage. but didn't for the top side of the Fuselage. the colors look spot on.. thanks looking forward to seeing more on this project
Hi Robert. Thanks so much for the kind comment. Its something I am trying to work on and plan to give a little more time to showing what paints I use. So hope fully the following will help: For the Grey I used Mr Hobby 308 For the lighter blue is used a mix of Mr Hobby 323 with a drop of 328, and mixed till i was happy For the dark blue i again used a mix which was Mr Hobby 34 with some drops of 328, again till i was happy with the tone I hope this helps and thanks again
Hi. Thanks so much for the super kind comment. Really appreciate it. Hmm that is something i will look into. I do love the V22's. Thank you my friend 😊
Great video! I'm about to start painting a MiG-29 in ukraine digital camo with Foxbot mask set FM 48-002. Haven't figured out how to use them because there are in some masks different colours right next to each other within the mask, so to say. All these sections have been precut like in your mask but in my case there is not just one color, but several. Hard to explain but if you got any tips on how you would do this, I will appreciate it very much.
I thank you for a wonderful show of how you painted the digital paint scheme with the mask. What wonderful work you do. My one question for you did and that is did you have to cut out the mask is sections or was it made to come in sections for each mask you applied?
Hi Bill. Sorry for the late reply. Yes they are cut out for you in sections. Thank you for the very kind comment. I hope you continue to enjoy the channel
Haha. Im so sorry. I had a disaster which this new episode will explain. Fear not the next episode will be available in 3 hours time. Thanks so much for being excited 😊👍
Love the video as I have this exact same kit and also the Foxbait masks which when reading the instructions I couldn't understand at all what they meant or how to use them! Btw do you have a Instagram account for your builds?
Hi. Thanks for the kind comment. I am glad you enjoyed the video and hope it has helped you. I do have an Instagram account but it's not updated too often. It's 'strega plastic cartel'. Thank you again and happy modeling
@@stregasplasticcartel812 That's funny we are already following each other but yes you haven't updated since 2021 lol. I did see your Flanker build there. 👍
