I must admit i was hoping you got closer to the seal, every time you started getting closer you moved away and it annoyed me. I wanted to see the struggle for life up close. Not sure what that says about me but i guess it's human nature to want to see, kinder like a car crash i guess.
I know 3 yrs is along time to leave a reply to ur comment. Your comment was ver]y disturbing to me. It is not human nature to watch something struggle to live. It is human nature to turn and look away or to try and help. Maybe you should see someone and talk about this comment you made it feels off!
@@deanasouza3075 actually most people feel the same as the original poster. Why do you think nature shows are so popular? You only have to go on here and search "lion attack" "lions hunting" "Wolves hunting" "Grizzly attack" or any predator with words attacking or hunting and you will see a lot of the videos have millions and millions of views. People aren't watching the videos to look at the trees they watching to see the predators kill their meals.
@@deanasouza3075 you make this comment but yet you will sit and eat a hamburger or some bacon or some chicken. Why weren't you trying to "help" the cattle or the hogs instead of eating them?
@@misguidedangel6550 I suggest you not assume anything because u know what that will make you. I don't eat meat so please make assumptions about someone else.... please stop trying with these petty comments.
What type of GoPro did you have? Quality is really good. Waterproof case too? Want to get one eventually. Just curious as to what you had there. Incredibly awesome footage. Too bad you didn't get a wee bit closer while the shark was busy. Nice that he came over and checked you out after though.
I didn't get to close because the seal wanted in the boat so I backed up a bit. This video is 720P for youtube if I put the full 1080P version up which looks best on computers, doesn't look so good on phones and tablets. The 1080 video blows me away watching it on the tv. The camera is a GoPro Hero3Black with the dive case. its been very good and shoots awesome video and pics. By the time I got it mounted on the pole the shark was gone. Maybe you'll see the 1080 version of this is shark week calls :-)
It becomes obvious in video after video of these Great White Shark predations on seals they don't like boaters approaching their kills while they're feeding or shortly after they strike & their waiting for the seal to bleed out. They appear to become quite agitated in some videos & always exhibit territorial behaviour. It would seem unadvisable to get too close to these events immediately after they happen & a better option to have binoculars handy for the sake of safety & to allow the sharks to feed in peace. People approaching too close to predation events in smaller boats could find themselves the target of intense territorial aggression in the form of attacks on their craft, which may not withstand such aggression by a larger Great White. Plus, it just seems intrusive & disrespectful of the shark's space.
Pity you had the camera pointed at the woman, why didn't you have it pointing out the front? We don't need to see a woman just standing there, instead we could've seen something remarkable and interesting
Too bad you didn't have the camera facing forward earlier, huh? Why were you recording the passenger anyway? And why do people riding on boats always have to try and look too cool? You're riding on a boat. You know that it's fun. Smile. Oh, no. That's gouache.
Funny thing is I was shooting beach video just before this happened as we passed up against the beach on the way out and passenger never knew the camera was on, as we left inlet I just let camera run. usually I have it mounted forward but wanted some different footage that day.
nothing to see here folks, shark worked for his/her food. this karen would rather see the shark eat veggies than meat like it was programed to. at least it didnt go hungry that night
That’s a bittersweet moment. If I had seen all that blood 🩸 that would have freaked me out,in all fairness just watching it has freaked me out. That’s nature for you.❤
I'm a fisherman and no stranger to New England waters and my advice is do not go in those waters of the cape for a swim or a deep wade even. Times have changed..
The one word that came to mind was POWERFUL watching it. Far to much adrenaline to hold the camera still but mesmerizing to say the least. I had hoped to see one and got my wish.
Crazy... I had just gotten to Nauset beach the same time you were filming this.. that afternoon my friend and the woman in front of us both swore they saw a shark later on that day.. I told her she was crazy because there was a seal right were she was pointing and that the shark would have attacked that seal.. but maybe he was full from this one.. Did you think to yourself.. "we're gonna need a bigger boat!"..
@Burr Anderson Go troll somewhere else. How rude you are. I never said anything about a shark thinking. I asked the person who posted this what he/she was thinking.
Very lucky cuz I went out the same year and had to tow the boat from the north shore to Chatham and didn't see any except a bunch of seals. You, not only see one up close but witness an attack on a seal at the same time! Talk about lucky and fortunate and I feel sorry for your friend (not in a terrible way like she was being treated unfairly or anything like that just want to make that clear) but she couldn't look at the blood and turned her back to it. That must've been a bit traumatizing. Was it the shakes or adrenalin like you mentioned below? I find it hard to keep it stable when it's cold and windy of course and I'm assuming it was a bit cool out there. Either way, great video except the shaking! :)
Saw your Dad in the gym this morning and he turned me on to this.....OMG!!! Cool but scary stuff! Heading over to CG with a friend and kids in a couple hours to see the seals....Maybe I'll show them this AFTERWARDS. LOL See you soon. L
You know that hey ? Have you ever seen one ? I was obsessed with them for 20 years and when I finally saw one on the cray boat I worked on I couldn’t move from the centre of the boat to look o er the rail at if for a good 2 or 3 min. They stare at you and they want to taste you. You don’t know how you will react til you are there.
cold water and higher seal populations than 14 yrs ago, Great White sharks have a food source here and they will as long as those seals have large numbered groups.
I filmed this about an hour before you filmed the shark just on the south side of the inlet. Dam I just missed the real good stuff!!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KaAHldR8e_0.html
Great video , I am still mad because in the middle of filming this I turned the go pro off by accident not knowing it was running, during the closest passes the shark made right against the boat. Im thankful I caught my error and got it turned back on. I wanted to see one all summer and I guess I got my wish hope you get the same treat some time. The adrenaline lasted till bed time lol PS you have some great videos
Why swimmers, divers and surfers even have a slight chance is time it takes for whites to come back and finish....thank God they use that tactic or fatality rate would be so much higher
We were right there, At 3:30 saw many seals, walked into the water to meet friends on their boat....Girlfriend screamed,(kind of) Screaming...Aren't you afraid of sharks? I said...no way..don't be ridiculous!! Jesus almighty god, Mary....I will maybe listen next time!!
We came right through the inside by all the boats then scooted outside and just happened to catch it, there were people on the beach watching so they must have seen it too. I was just swimming on the outside of Monomoy down by the lighthouse about an hour before lol maybe not again.
The where can think looking in advance so that may be a risk always exist, and foresees everything in time! That you now write that you were swimming, and can even imagine what would have happened if ... is only now, because you'll forget it in a few weeks if you do not see more shark, and will swim as if everything is as before had.
Wow. Makes one really think twice about swimming in those waters. It also makes you hope nothing goes wrong on board like God forbid a fire or sinking. Then your in the water too ! Anyway, you could see you were shaking from the adrenaline. Must have been some experience. Fun times....
@@yankeedieselremember if you are ever in the water, you don't have to outrun the shark, just your friend. So always have a plump friend with a big life jacket on when you go out on the water...
