Great Yarmouth 1933 Tourism Video 

My father was born and bred in Great Yarmouth He died last year age 91. It is his birthday today. He would of liked this,thank you for posting.

If any ever does invent a time machine this is the era I would go to first. Spiffing

Lived in Yarmouth in '71. For a 14 yr old it was an absolute adventure and delight! I see lots of people on videos about Yarmouth complaining about how bad it is now. What did people expect? When working class people abandoned towns like this to get on a cheap flight to someplace warm and sunny, didn't you know you were killing your seaside towns?

Everyone was so polite back then.

It’s a shame to think that within 6years these peoples lives would change forever.

Don't you just love that old fashioned English, such perfect diction and pronunciation. You dont hear it anymore.

Had summer holiday in Gt. Yarmouth from mid 60s, to early 70s. Still have fond memories.

Really really enjoyed this wonderful film - it captures the magic and romance of this brilliant sea side resort . The excitement I felt as my dad drove the Golden mile in the early 70s is still with me ; and of course walking the sea front and Regent Road was the best .

Such a lovely film! My grandparents came from near Yarmouth and it's so nice to think that they could've been dancing or listening to the many bands on the seafront.... My, how Yarmouth has changed...

Wonderful video especially showing the Winter Gardens in their heyday particularly as now they are to be restored

I played here in 1932 with Roy Fox. Not a bandleader then - on piano.

Shame how the town has gone down hill would loved to have seen it like this

The amazing glass pavilion of the Winter Gardens is now fenced-off, while the Council (who own it, whatever they may say) wait until it becomes unsafe, and can justify its destruction.

Shakespeare said it was the finest town in England. It's been absolutely ruined since 1960s though.
