Lived in Yarmouth in '71. For a 14 yr old it was an absolute adventure and delight! I see lots of people on videos about Yarmouth complaining about how bad it is now. What did people expect? When working class people abandoned towns like this to get on a cheap flight to someplace warm and sunny, didn't you know you were killing your seaside towns?

71 - 73 was my most magical time there too - I remember my cousins dressed in Bay City Rollers clothes and shoes ! Great days .

@@maxcalver8780 omg, I had totally forgotten Bay City Rollers! For an American kid from suburbia, where you couldn't go anywhere without your parents driving you - this was such freedom! We had to be in by dark in summer, but that wasn't until 10:30 pm!

Really really enjoyed this wonderful film - it captures the magic and romance of this brilliant sea side resort . The excitement I felt as my dad drove the Golden mile in the early 70s is still with me ; and of course walking the sea front and Regent Road was the best .

Such a lovely film! My grandparents came from near Yarmouth and it's so nice to think that they could've been dancing or listening to the many bands on the seafront.... My, how Yarmouth has changed...

The amazing glass pavilion of the Winter Gardens is now fenced-off, while the Council (who own it, whatever they may say) wait until it becomes unsafe, and can justify its destruction.

it all went ownhill from 1994 onwards when the government at the time thought it would be a good idea to send all the long term unemployed from the major cities to seaside resorts to make their numbers look better. it killed the town

The middle class became more prosperous, air travel became cheap, so people went to places that were warm and sunny and abandoned the seaside towns of UK

I like the opening thumbnail: She's striding ahead of Him, obviously they've rowed over something He's done, perhaps She caught Him 'eyeing' that trim little blonde thing...

Shakespeare said it was the finest town in England. It's been absolutely ruined since 1960s though.
