If Gordon Hayward makes that half court buzzer beater against Duke, it would have been the greatest shot in college basketball history. What a game that was too, back and forth until the final buzzer
You’re right! It’s a must see on whether or not they’re gonna hit a half court shot to win it or if they’re gonna blow a 10 point lead with 40 seconds left
2:22 to 2:27 When you’re watching a movie, and rooting for them to get away from the killer, but they trip, and get caught. Just listen to the commentators.
I love that the Butler half court almost make against Duke is included. Was an insane moment, and would've been the greatest shot of all time had it gone in.
This is a great job. It covered about everything. Just wish you'd included the Villanova ending in '85 upset of Georgetown. That was special. Loved it. I still think Kentucky vs Duke at the Regional Final in Philadelphia at the Old Spectrum is the greatest game I've ever seen.
Louisville vs. Kansas State in 1980, Drake vs. UCLA in 1969, Arkansas vs. Louisville in 1981 -- I'm old enough to remember when playmaking mattered, pants didn't come down to knees, and colleges actually educated.
I'm definitely biased, but I still think 4:23 is the greatest buzzer-beating _shot_ (like, skillwise) maybe ever. Down by 1 and he shoots a running 3 falling away with a guy in his face and absolutely nails it.
Loyola Marymount's absolute undressing of Michigan 32 years ago was a great moment that lasted for 2 hours. Hank Gathers of Loyola had led the nation in scoring and rebounding the previous season but developed a coronary issue and died during their conference tournament the following year. The Lions could have folded, but instead, went on a mission. They must've scored about 120 points...the Wolverines ran out of gas early in the 2nd half and Loyola just buried 'em. Do yourself a favor and Google the Paul Westhead coached Loyola Marymount team of the late 1980's. They were probably the most entertaining team ever to lace 'em up.
jmcieslak0 I mean he had a point. They got the missed free throw and time was ticking down but they were just standing with the ball 30 feet from the basket. Got bailed out by that amazing shot.
A lot of these major upsets or Cinderella run teams have Cinderella professional players. Kenneth Faried at Morehead State. Kyle O'Quinn at Norfolk State. CJ McCollum at Lehigh. Gordon Hayward and Shelvin Mack at Butler. Steph Curry at Davidson. Steve Nash at Santa Clara. Cleanthony Early, Ron Baker, and Fred Van Fleet at Wichita State. Troy Daniels at VCU. That's off the top of my head but I'm sure there's plenty more I'm forgetting.
You missed the 1971 Villanova vs Western Kentucky Game , Double Over Time with Howard Porter hitting shots at the 2 second mark to send into another Ot. Porter was a GREAT COLLEGE PLAYER !!!!!
Left out 1994 NCAA Tournament Champions Arkansas Razorback’s Scotty Thurman’s 3 to get the win over Duke! WPS!!! 40 Minutes of Helll Coach Nolan Richardson!
