Philadelphia sports at that time was very special. Every team in the city was very good and filled with characters that everybody loved. Each sport had its special time of the year that was always exciting. Schmidtty was and forever will be an icon in Philly. As a kid i emulated his playing style as did almost every other kid growing up. What a special time that was from the mid-70’s to the early 80’s. You could feel that something great was going to happen and it all came together when we got Charley Hustle. Another player i emulated.
I never knew Reggie interviewed him. Schmidt was one of the greatest to play the game. So glad I got to grow up watching him play here in Philadelphia. Thanks for sharing this!
