When we were doing our scouting trip to Costa Rica a couple years ago, we stayed in Grecia for 4 days. This was during the rainy season, but even then it was definitely beautiful and we enjoyed the temperature sure - temperate during the day and pleasantly cool at night. The downtown area was very busy and the roads are narrow for sure, but it had a really nice overall vibe and seemed to have all the shops you could need for everyday life. We currently live in Santa Ana with plans to move to the San Carlos area, but if not for that Grecia was high on my list from all the places that we have had the privilege to visit here in CR.

@@yourpuravida We really enjoy the vibe of La Fortuna, but the weather can be a bit oppressive in terms of humidity/heat and it seems to be perpetually cloudy whenever we go. LOL. We're hoping the elevation increase that comes from being in Ciudad Quesada might change some things. We're gonna go and rent there for a bit and see if that is so.

Thanks. Grecia is on the top of my list of possible Costa Rica retirement locales. I don't drive, so wherever I end up, I should be able bike, hoof or take publc transport. Perez Zeledon is also on my radar. Cheers.

I moved to Grecia several years ago. I love it here. The area is a great combination of small town but near the urban center. Climate is amazing. I was able to build a home in a gated community for a reasonable price. Great choice for me.

I thought the same thing lol. What I've wound up doing is watching their videos and then checking out alot of walk through vids on RU-vid. There's a really good one on RU-vid. The dude, pretty much, walks into every store in town lol
