Greco Les Paul Gets Help 

I don't have OCD, however the position of the output jack plate, on that guitar is doing my head in!

I bought about $300 in tools and started practicing on cheap, messed up guitars after learning and listening to you. After lots of practice, I can correctly fix probably 95% of issues myself with relief, leveling, crowning and proper action. Thank you Dave!!! Owe you big time for being a great teacher!!!

I wonder if that is a 70's "Lawsuit Era" Greco. Greco, Tokai and Burny were making copies of Gibson guitars that were vastly superior to what Gibson was churning out in those days. I would love to have a Burny LP from that era.

Dave, This one really brought me back. I had one of these in the late 70s. I was in US Navy stationed at Rota Spain. I think I got the guitar at the base exchange. As I recall, it looked a lot like this one. It played nicely (at least I thought it did at the time - I hadn’t been playing long at that time). Always love your posts - very real - always informative.

The Japanese Greco's are really nice. Played one before but have owned a Korean one and even that one was pretty good.

I used to have a fourteen pound Greco Ace Frehley LP.😆

Fret leveling, re-crowing, end dressing and polishing is my favorite part of working on a guitar. Why? It gives the owner the most satisfaction for their money. They see it and feel it when they play. Also making it work again if the electronics are shot.

The early '70's (pre-lawsuit) Greco guitar and bass things are really good. Badged in U.K. as Antoria. Everywhere else the name on the headstock is Ibanez, but all pretty much identical, built next to each other.

I have a 70's Greco SG It has a bolt on neck. I recently put in burst buckers. The body is thicker than a Gibson./Epiphone. Got it cause I'm a lefty and they really didn't have affordable leftys back then.

just installed a set of these Klusons on a 335 guitar, they are very good.

I like to keep the tailpiece decked and overwrap the strings.

Great video as always, really enjoyed watching that with a coffee. Great to see you working on a Greco too, what did you think of the overall quality of it? I love my '87 EGC 68-60, can't believe how good it plays and sounds, it hangs out easily with my Gibson's.

Strings still making contact with the back of the bridge? That neck set is off a little and would benefit from the over-wrap hack.

Well a little bit more than an great Dave's set with the fret leveling but you customer should be happy. Personally I've never seen Greco-Roman les paul but it looks ok
