Is the best song so far objectively! I don't say that because I am Greek, after all it is the only year that I believe it. If this song was sent by one of the big countries like Sweden, now it would be in the top five or it might be the first and not at all unlikely to win the competition. Forgive me for that, but my comment is not racist at all, I'm just a realist and it happens every year at Eurovision. Is just the reality!
Using elements from Greek mythology, such as Pegasus (who symbolises the last stage of the flood where the waters stopped receding and instead the tops of the mountains are raised in celebration and victory of the Muses) and Atlas ( who according to ancient myth, Atlas was condemned by Zeus to hold Uranus on his back forever. If he left him he would fall and Uranus would plague Atlanta himself and then the whole world, bringing disaster. Thus, the image of Atlanta became a symbol of human endurance) given in a dreamy, but at the same time modern way, the central message of the song is highlighted, which is the phrase "Every end is always a new beginning". That is why it closes with the light that always conquers the darkness, calling on all of us to remain optimistic and to have the belief that soon everything will be over, even the unprecedented ordeal that the whole planet is experiencing🥰♥️ With love from Greece ♥️🇬🇷
I'm Danish and I love it. Beautifull girl combined with Greek mythology , unicorn and atlas, combined with a beautifull voice and a addictive song, what's not to like. This song is literally Eurovision incarnation, like a modern Abba ♥️
The song is a relevant story the whole planet has been going through with the lockdowns and pandemic.. That's why she is walking on an empty street alone, a young girl full of dreams.. All of a sudden everything stops.. Feels drowning, whole world is sinking.. But she keeps her hopes and flies away and she lands where ATLAS holds the earth touches him and the water is released and the world is saved.. And then she can move again so does US together with whole world.. Very smart idea of the video combined with the Greek Mythology to describe our situation and finish with light and hope. As for the song, I believe is one of the best ones, this one and Katerina Duska that Greece sent in the last decade. Has international standards and a fantastic 80's retro wave style melody mixed with a modern twist.. And Stefanias voice freshness and GLOW elevates this so much.. Top 10 for Greece if not top 5. And with Fokas staging it who knows.. Sky is the limit!!! I keep playing this on repeat. So proud of Greece!! Great review
Thank you for copying my very own words on another reaction.. And when I say copy the whole thing I mean copy the whole ting.. Next time just please say: I read this amazing review and the guy wrote”...”. And finish by saying that none of this is yours.. It would have been much appreciated rather than pass it as yours.. Thanks
This is the coolest , most current song of Eurovision 2021 . 80s throwback , synth , Dua lipa meets Kylie . But It has no trashy , ear worm elements which Eurovision loves. Should be a top 3 but won’t . It’s definitely a great pop song .
I hate the comparisons beetwen Supergirl and Last Dance, they are both 10/10 songs for me. Supergirl was my favourite song last year. My winner. Last Dance is my 2nd favourite song this year. Stefania is a queen, she can´t do no wrong. She´s the youngest in the contest, she is so talented, she is amazing.
I know Fokas Evangelinos (Russia 16,19) is doing her staging & Vrettos Vrettakos (Cyprus 2018) is doing her styling so I think Greece are throwing the big coin behind Stefania & this song 😍🇬🇷
Beautiful Bella: hey girl we are all geeking out all over the world with this video! Kisses from Greece! Eurovision Hub we loooooooooove you all guys!! You are all so cute :)
You are all awesome! The song has influences from the 80's and that's why I find it the best so far! It's also very current. It talks about the pandemic and likens it to a natural disaster but always after the end of a disaster, a new beginning is born. The video means that we should be optimistic about life and never stop dancing, even if it's our last dance on this planet. There is always a new beginning as it was in antiquity, so they reborn the mythical heroes like Pegasus the horse and Atlas the titan who held the earth with his hands, so that it would not be destroyed. 👏💋
I actually agree and disagree with Julia at the same time. I can totally see that it sounds like every Eurovision song but at the same time it's not as generic because it has a specific vibe, which is the 80's music. I would not compare it for example to "This Is Love" by Demy. It's not that generic. But I agree that the music video is totally distracting from the song, I bet that if you listen to the song by itself, you'll like it much better. I think that the song is quite addictive. I'm trying not to be to hopeful but it has potential and I think with the right staging it can finish on the left hand-side of the scoreboard in the final
I love this but i'm not sure if it's because it's pretty good or because it's greece and i'm a big fan of the contry or because i see Blackjack of Percy Jackson in this video.
The earth drawing in water and she goes with Pegasus to Atladas to give him help to keep the world safe because he keep the earth safe with his heands (Greek Mythology) and the earth is in danger....but this is a dream of a modern Greek girl..... (the meaning is that after the quarantine and covid19 we need all some kind of hope and all we want to do better our lifes even if we live the end of the world we will steel have good dreams and will we goin to dance our last dance)....
Ηi guys and thank you for your overall positive attitude, and yes the song brings us back to the 80s, and yes it's catchy, and yes it's maybe too mainstream pop and too... "eurovisionistic", and... yet it could be a very promising entry given also it's amazing v.clip if only the E.S.C had not degenerated into a political -in the broad sense- event, rather than a song contest as it claims to be! Regards from Athens! ,
me like this, it reminds me of some of those 80's female artists (even the pouting and posing and gensturing has huge echoes of Laura Branigan circa 84/5 for me!). The music is pretty contagious as well but, maybe it gets a tiny bit repetitive after two minutes.Good song though Greece.
My 5th! Only Serbia has the better banger so far. The Greece we know and love is back - this is a huge step up from last year - and if the music video is this good can you imagine the staging!
The message is the world is drowning now with this pandemic but the light will turn bright again to move ahead great message along with Greek mythology atlas holding the world and Pegasus she turns into an angel at the end with the with light revealing hope.
The videoclip is the perfect fit for this song it combines the greek mythology with the current situation and gives a message of hope. It could be confusing for someone who has no knowledge of the matter as he wouldn't be able to find a connection between the lyrics and the videoclip . That is why i believe that before expressing an opinion someone could do first a little research
I almost never like the songs written by Kontopoulos, but fortunately I am not the measure of comparison. they did a very good job in the "last dance" . I think she will go to the final and meet there Iceland, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, San Marino, Cyprus etc etc
Soooo, if the video about global warming? Let's dance, like it's our last dance (Action as if like there is no tomorrow) This isn't our last dance (It's not going to be too late)
I agree with Julia and Adele! I think that the main 'problem' with this song is the lack of identity - it is a good, pleasant, radio-friendly song, but that's pretty much it... I believe that it'll grow on me, but I had huge expectations from Greece and I was kinda disappointed... Anyway, good luck!
The problem of this music is the video does not match at all so its kind of confusing. But I was listening to this in a mixed playlist in the car the other day and I really enjoyed only to realise it was Greece's entry.
Like the song, but the ethnicity for what Greece is known for is completely missing and that is very unfortunate. I prefer Supergirl therefore more. But the real question is: Where does Miceal bought his shirt? :D
The only ethnic elements of this entry, is the thematology of the video clip which is "bombarded" with Greek mythology.. Love it❤️... Other than that, I get why someone would want an ethnic element in the song but always wander why they don't expect it from other countries... And therefore it is a bad think when a Greek entry lacks ethnic elements..
It's good but there are so many bangers this year and it sits below San Marino, Cyprus and Croatia for me. Definitely a step up. It also reminds me of Raylee
we all know that greece cannot afford to get a win for neither now or the next 20 years . Honestly it's easy to get a win in Eurovision , but nobody wants to actually win since its money wasted . Especially for countries with already high tourism industry . (i am greek btw)
Dude, eurovision is one of the cheapest international events that can be hosted... And I don't think that Greece doesn't have the money to host it... Personal opinion? Greece could have expertly hosted it even in 2011,2015 two of the worst wears in terms of economic crisis... It isn't profitable by itself but moneywise it's not that big of a deal, honestly.. Also a Greek
It is like a mix of Dua Lipa's "Physical" And Raylee's "Hero". Good for going to the final but I think that will Be 10 or 15. Btw I just Wanna say I think I have a crush on Miko
I like Supergirl better even if the chorus was a bit repetitive there. Last Dance is okay but not one of my favorites this year. (would rather have the "Greek sound" back than having a Greek mythology themed music video but that's just me)
It is a ok song it doesn't look or sound like it is from Greece and the mythology part can't be done at a stage. It is just a blank song. I liked more Supergirl than this.
You can't give the same thing every single year. We've seen how that turned out in 2018 where Greece didn't even qualify. And they can definitely bring the mythology part on stage with something similar to "You're my only one" from Russia
it's better than supergirl, and I do like it musically, I just hate the lyrics. it's soooooo repetative. this is all about the presentation, otherwise it won't qualify.
