Kefalonia is one of the best places I’ve ever been, it is a beautiful place to be to forget all about life, the beaches are outstanding as is the food. I ate that much the owner of the hotel came to see me on my last day with a bottle of their home grown wine as a gift for basically spending my money there ❤️ I’d recommend Kefalonia to anyone and everyone. Greek history is so interesting and goes back to a time we just couldn’t even imagine but walk around the archeological sites buildings and churches and you’ll fall in love. The people of Greece are beautiful, enjoy your fabulous stay on a gorgeous island
That’s so cool you’ve been to Kefalonia! 😍 everything about the island is amazing! So much good food!! The food quality at restaurants, even the touristy ones is so much better than some other more popular islands. One of the best moussaka I’ve ever had was in Kefalonia on our last day.
@Maria & Olivia I stayed in Skala, it was like going back to my childhood. I lay around a pool listening to the hotels 80s remix music playlists it was so chilled out. The food is a huge thing for me, I love good food and you just can't go wrong with Greek food, vine leaves, moussaka, kleftiko it's all so delicious and to wind your day away in the sea or pool in beautiful surroundings really makes you feel alive xx
Oh ok I know where that is, it’s kind of close to where we stayed. Yes! I think the greek islands (not the super touristy ones) have such a special energy. In my opinion being at nice greek island in the summer in Greece, is one of the best feelings. I don’t know if I’m biased because I’m greek or if other non greek travelers feels the same. Oh you know kleftiko too! That’s my moms favorite, it’s REALLY good when made properly 😋
@Maria & Olivia if you ever return to Kefalonia and like the 80s vibe I can highly recommend it also have you tried Parga (mainland Greece) that is a truly beautiful place, I spent 2 weeks there floating around in total relaxation
Do you remember the hotel name? 😊 I’ve heard of Parga, in fact we drove close by last year when we went to Corfu. It looks and sounds beautiful. Greece has soooo many beautiful spots to explore. We really want to rent a camper van and drive around for a month 😍 Are you greek?
You both are so great 😍😍😍😍 ..thank you for the new experience .. awesome villa .. an exciting trip .. But,, camping is better to enjoy the night atmosphere with a bonfire near the beach ..hhhehe 😁
Thank you Andreache 🥰 you’re right! I do like camping a lot but maybe not in the summer at a greek island 😅 it gets really really hot and humid (on the Ionian islands).
Thanks for showing Kefalonia with the beautiful waters. The only thing I'm not really a fan of, is the rocky beach. The Corinth Canal is very impressive! I really love the grape leaves filled with rice!
Yes, unless you have water shoes (which we purchased the next day) and sunbeds to lay on, it can be really uncomfortable and take away from the experience.
Thank you for your kind words Gary. Olivia and I met in 2019 on a dating app. I lived in Los Angeles and she lived in Michigan. So we did long distance for 2 years until we moved to Europe in 2021 😊
Very exciting! 😁 it was a pretty easy trip to make from Athens. From what I remember there’s no confusing roads. As long as you have the gps to guide you, it’ll be really easy. The port is definitely a lot more relaxed than the Pireus port in Athens. The boat ride is pretty smooth and then from Kymi port in Kefalonia, it’s a really nice drive further into the island. The island has a few tight roads at times but I’d say it’s a really easy island to drive around (90% of the time). Have a wonderful time! If you have time, you should look into taking a water taxi to Fteri beach. We didn’t get the chance to go but from what it sounds/looks like, it’s definitely worth the visit.

Aw I’m sad we missed that! It would have been so cool to go see them. We were going to go on our last day to hike ainos but we didn’t have enough time 😭 even a week is not enough time in Kefalonia
