Wow! This I have to try. I don’t think I ever have had greek scrambled eggs when I have been in Greece.

When I was a child we used to call this dish 'tomatoes with eggs' (translated literally from Greek). A trick that I had come up with as a child was to put some crumbled feta on my plate and put the scrambled eggs on it so that it would melt by the time I ate it. If you think this is a little heavy (especially for breakfast), it's also fine if you add a bit less onion which brings out the tomato flavour even more - it also has a livelier red colour. Personally, I prefer not to scramble the eggs into the tomato immediately and prefer to leave them unstirred for about 3 seconds so that they remain their own colour (a bit) and then I stir them - this results in bits of egg being more prominent rather than Akis's uniform look - But this is only a personal preference. Made this one... nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing as creamy English style scrambled eggs BUT as soon as you bite into it the flavours are amazing! Would definitely recommend it

My father used to make this on sundays after we walked/played in the woods. He used dutch cheese (because we are dutch) and called it tomato poo.

A few months back, my wife and me were looking for breakfast in Mykonos. We ended up in a lovely place by the Old Port and had the most wonderful scrambled eggs ever. Thank you for your recipe, now I will be able to recreate that wonderful meal we had.

I do this but I cook down baked beans with the tomatoes and for a while longer then at the end add eggs very yummy

I'll be trying this soon. It's not too far from shakshuka, but with different spicing and the eggs scrambled instead of poached in the tomato - onion sauce. Scrambled sounds better to me.

That is shakshouka in the Middle East, but without the feta cheese, people sometimes will add some fried hallomi cheese on the side.
