The Azer so you want all homosexuals to leave this earth for you? where is the harmony if different cultures can live on this earth then why not we homosexuals?
Yesterday I told my mum I wanted to try something 'exotic' and cook some Greek stuff... So, perfect timing! I'll give this a go as it seems sooo tasty! Cheers from Chile ♡
I was in Athens in June and I ate souvlaki almost everyday. Greece is such a beautiful country. Great weather, awesome food and open-hearted people. Been there 7 times and I keep going back. Thanks for the recipe, brings back memories. I hope to see more of Akis on this channel.
I loved going to Greece. My wife always asks me every year when we plan our yearly travels to europe why i always want to go to Greece. Greece has best people in the world, best food and is so rich in ancient Culture. Why wouldnt i want to go back? I love Greece!!!
+DeezoCew yes. basically Darius (who is xerxes' s father) didnt fight himself. he just gathered a huge Persian military force and sent it at the Marathon to fight the Greeks. the greek army leader was Miltiades and the two Persians leaders were Datis and Artafernis (found their names in a greek history book). Those two were Darius' s underlings
LuminaryChief56HD I'm Greek and I don't talk like that. Not that there's anything wrong with the way Akis talks. I'm just saying that you can't speak on behalf of EVERY Greek. Not EVERYONE talks like that.
I have friends coming over on Saturday... I'm going to make souvlaki with tzatsiki sauce, a greek salad, and your recipe for pita bread... I'll make some raspberry sorbet for dessert... Wish me luck ! (p.s... I'm Italian)
Good show "FILE" as a retired chef my self I enjoy and appreciate your show. Without a doubt you know your stuff, and the way you demonstrate your cooking is remarkable . I enjoy the way you present your ways of cooking, very easy . YIASSOO !!
I've spent like 4 hours in my kitchen making my gratin dauphinois, your greek pita, souvlaki and tzatziki. And I have to say it was worth it and your recipes are amazingly tasty! :DDD I actually have a question. Is it normal to spend 4 hours cooking? Efharistó kai sas agapó Akis!
Is always a pleasure to watch you cook, yesterday i made your tzatziki sauce to garnish falafel gyros and it was great!! will have to do this kekabs soon, regards from México.

Souvlakis taste so good! Great recipe. And listen up people! If you can afford it, go and visit Greece. It is a stunningly beautiful country, full of history, people are lovely and very welcoming, the landscapes are jaw-droppingly diverse and absolutely gorgeous and the food tastes so good you won't believe it. Plus, they need support right now with the crisis they've been through so if you feel like it, you could see it as an "activist trip" too. And that's a German speaking :)
that's why I have been to Athens, Santorini, 3 times and also Crete (2016) and Rhodes this past July :) I can have gyros & the spinach+feta pastry everyday :)
I love your food and your way of cooking, it's clean food (healthier style), which we are always looking to find, and you make it really easy, THANK YOU!!
I have lived in Greece for six years and now I am in Italy. Every time I watch this video, I always feel very kind! I have the opportunity to go back to Greece! I want eat souvlaki again!!!
jamie i watch your cooking skill years ago when TV in greece show your cooking shows and now one very good Greek Master Chef in your RU-vid channel? that's amazing
I actually can't wait to go back to Greece after lockdown here in Australia. Greek people have go to be a very strong and prided culture of people. Direct and down to earth no bullshit aside. They tell you what they think, they are happy to help you, they are hospitable, they do not care who you are, you are always welcome. The children of most Greek people are mature and respectful of elderly people, help their neighbors like no tomorrow. The Greeks are also very intelligent, I mean the foundations of mathematics and science comes from there. They are all about family and helping each other. Thats why even though they had an economic crisis, they survive, because they know how! I love the Greeks they are by far my favourite people and I have visited over 80 countries.
Aaargh, reminds me of my holidays in Greece (Rhodos & Ios) ! Greek food is great stuff, I'll have to try this at home! I think I'm going to use lamb and/or chicken instead though.
It appears as if he warms the pita bread on the uncooked side of the pork. You might want to wait until you turn the pork once and then place the pita on the already cooked side of pork. It's doubtful there'd be anything dangerous on the meat after a soak invinegar, but it never hurts to play it safe. Great looking recipe.
Why call something "kebab" when the origins of souvlaki date back to ancient Greece? The word souvlaki is a diminutive of the Greek souvla (spit), itself borrowed from the Latin word subula. But the origins of souvlaki date back to ancient Greece. It was known with the name obeliskos (dim. of obelos -spit), mentioned by among others in the works of Aristophanes, Xenophon, Aristotle etc. A meat and bread recipe which resembles the way pita souvlaki is served today with pita bread was also attested by Athenaeus in his “Deipnosophistae” and called the plate kandaulos. The skewered recipe existed as a favorite in ancient Greece during Archaic times, as the earliest references are attested in Homer. However, excavations held in Akrotiri on the Greek island of Santorini by professor Christos G. Doumas, unearthed stone sets of barbecues for skewers (Greek: krateutai) used before the 17th century BC. Even later on, during the Byzantine era, references survive describing street vendors selling souvlakia with pita in Constantinople.
+jim apo Potatoes are not needed, they just fill your stomach more but don't add to the flavour or nutrition too much. Without the potatoes you feel the meat, the vegetables and the tzatziki much more intensely.
+jim apo The patatoes started to become part of the souvlaki at the late 80's early 90's . This came up because of the fast food industry which got into the Greek market at this era . Before that the original souvlaki had pitta , pork or lamb meat, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes and onions .
great recipe Akis. I have a comment. I had an uneven pork shoulder piece and had to cut it into smaller pieces for uniform cooking in an oven. I would say go with Akis' video and cut the pork into bigger chucks. The bigger chunks were juicier. Turned out great in an oven.
