England and Scotland Border Campsite: We visit Green Acres Caravan Park near, Carlisle in Cumbria which is the 2024 winner of the Top 100 Sites regional award for the North West along with winning other prestigious awards and we could see why, it was fantastic!
While we were there we visited the lovely Houghton Garden Centre and also took a trip to Solway Camper Conversions, stopped off at the Metal Bridge then headed for Hoddom Castle in Scotland.
A great place to stop off on your way to or from Scotland or simply to spend a while exploring the area.

Nice drive thru even if a bit soggy! Nice looking site and you don’t have to leave it for some good grub! The sports hall is cool especially considering it’s adult only site you could have a right giggle in there when the beers are flowing! Looks clean too! It helps the sun has got his hat on and those lovely blue skies! That’s cool they clean your barbecue after you have used it! Aaww Roxy made some friends! Bought on Hall looks fabulous! Love a good garden centre (we don’t even have a garden 🤣) great drone work! Another super watch! Have a great week ahead 👍❤️

Great video again. Greenacres is the best site we have been on,spent a week there this August and last year. Very well kept and fantastic shower rooms. Now you have let everyone know about it ,it will be hard to book a pich🤣 There are lots to see around, only 8 miles from GretnaGreen. Carlisle is a lovely place to visit . The best meal out was at The Crown & Thistle at Rockcliffe, my husband is still talking about his dessert.

I loved the little honesty shop and yea those wet rooms were exceptional 💗💗💗 we had tried to book earlier in the year but struggled to get in. It’s a shame it isn’t open in winter. Rain !!!! your now getting as bad as us 🙂 Glad it all cleared up though and the weather did look nice.That farm shop was just amazing, knocked spots of Mainsgill ! Hiya David Rachel and Roxy. Nice to see you back West like eh. That site was spot on totally worth the 34 Quid. And you had sunshine how lucky you were. Nice to see Rachel's dad again I take this trip is what you're dad told us about 2 months ago Rachel. The garden center is Sheila's go to for plants also Coffee and Cake. Must try a brekky next time. Thank you. It was fantastic to be back in the west. Yes, the site is good value with everything you get with it. And as you say got the sunshine on the Friday which was brilliant. It was lovely to see Rachel’s Dad and Sheila. We have passed the garden centre so many times over the years but had never been and was well worth a visit. The breakfast is worth stopping off for definitely worth checking out! All the very best, David & Rachel 👍❤️

Hi David, Rachel and Roxy. Totally agree with you about Greenacres , we stayed there earlier this year and found it amazing! Fantastic facilities and we enjoyed several games of petanque whist there. Lovely couple running it too. We didn't visit the garden centre this time but it's definitely on the list for our next visit, thanks for showing it.

Glad you guys had a good time at Green Acres, I stopped here on the way home last year and its a lovely site with great facilities. The breakfast at the garden centre looked yummy too. Nice idea with a Solway visit 😉. Cheers

Thanks Tim, it’s a cracking site - we have tried to visit on a few occasions but has been booked up but always last minute - we really enjoyed it and would go back at a moments notice as the facilities are exceptional. The breakfast was great too in the Garden Centre, worth the detour off the M6 for even if you’re not stopping over. All the very best, David & Rachel 👍❤️

We only live a few miles from Carlisle and have heard good things about Greenacres so interesting to have a look round. The garden centre is lovely but i think im right in saying they dont allow dogs which is a pity. They do a great breakfast tho!😊

David/Rachel, thanks for another top video..unrelated Q but am I right in thinking that in a previous video you looked at cushion boards for rear barn door windows that allow you to sit back but protect blinds ???? Have trawled through but can't find???

We looked at that some time ago and I was going to make a covered board but have found if you lean slightly back and put a cushion behind it seems to work - I’m sure there were some good examples in the CV Owners Group if you fancy doing that - all the best, David & Rachel 👍

Love your choice of music on this one. I’ve never seen a campsite with a Badminton court before. The showers looked amazing. Shame it’s not open all year round as I would have booked a night there to break up the journey on our trip to Edinburgh. Take care Gill

Hi Gill! I know! Very random but actually the space would work gorgeous gatherings! The showers were epic! I love the one independent room that seems to be en vogue. It just makes the whole drying process easier … in the small cubicles I always end up with wet clothes! We were chatting to them and they said that it’s the cost of electric over the winter months that don’t make it viable - such a shame as a cracking site in a great location 💗💗 Rachel & David 💗

No Disabled toilet's or showers

Hi thank you for your comment 💗💗. All the wet rooms are accessible and 1 is disability specifically adapted, however it was in use so couldn’t show it. Snip from website; Often described by guests as like being in a spa our award-winning facilities block hosts six luxurious wet rooms (including one disabled) all wet rooms have underfloor heating, non-slip flooring, toilet, spacious changing area, hand dryers, sink, rainfall/detachable shower.
