"Green Acres" cast reunion at the Brown Derby restaurant (1984). Eddie Albert, Eva Gabor and other principal cast members of the "Green Acres" TV show enjoy their first reunion 16 years after the classic 1960's series was in production. Alvy Moore (Mr. Kimball), Pat Buttram (Mr. Haney), and "Green Acres" director Richard Bare joined Albert and Gabor for the reunion at the iconic Brown Derby restaurant in Hollywood. When the Green Acres cast arrived we were already set-up to shoot using three cameras and an overhead boom mic (seen a bit in a couple of the wide shots). They decided they'd rather have lunch first off-camera and then we'd shoot video while they were having coffee. We placed a small TV on their table and they enjoyed watching a tape of Green Acres clips while having lunch. Some of the video we shot didn't make it into the final edit and I re-edited it for brevity, but I included all the available video that we shot in the restaurant. They all seemed like nice folks and really enjoyed the occasion. I think Pat Buttram's story about Arnold and the banter about the cornfield in front of Eddie Albert's house in Pacific Palisades are just priceless.

My grandpa (papaw) was kind of proud about attending high school with the actor who played Mr. Haney. One of those "brush with greatness" things, few and far between in central Alabama. They need to do more shows like this, a casual restaurant rather than studio setting. You could see the affection the cast members had for each other. And Eva, that accent!

I loved that show. Now that I'm 67 years old and have seen it over and over I'm struck at how dizzy Lisa became as the show went on. She started out as a sophisticated and elegant city woman but by the 4th season she fit right in with Hank Kimbal and Ebb as wacky characters on the show. I also loved the innovation of them seeing the names of Richard Bare and others and working them into the show.

Thanks for uploading this Reunion video! "Green Acres" was so funny that I often wonder how the actors kept straight faces during the filming or how they kept from cracking up with laughter. @@TVCrewGuy Thank you for your reply. After all these years, I would hope that an "outtake or blooper reel" would finally turn up, sort of like the "missing" 90-foot stone from Oak Island (Nova Scotia, Canada) that has been missing for over one hundred years. That stone also will be PRICELESS when it finally surfaces!..... I hope someone with connections in Hollywood can look into this as I'm sure a lot of film footage wound up on the cutting room floor and I'll "bet the farm" that someone knew the value of that film that was not used. If it exists, it is probably in someone's private possession. That would make for a very interesting "'Green Acres" treasure hunt!

All I could think about was when Pat Buttram voiced the Napoleon in the Aristocats (1970) and the Sheriff of Nottingham from Disney's Robin Hood (1973). He would make the audience laugh and boy, it was a great hit. A memorable life it was for Pat Buttram and the Walt Disney Company. Two funny anecdotes that overlap. In Debbie Reynolds' book, she described how Eva Gabor escorted Debbie into the bathroom where a man was in a tub. "This is my sweetie," said Eva. The tub was filled with water, but no bubbles. Cut to decades later. Stevie Phillips, a mogul wannabe who had managed Judy Garland, wrote a book. She had an encounter with Eddie Albert who invited her over. He beckoned her to open a door, and there he was, in the bathtub filled with water... no bubbles.
