Have ordered your book and can't wait to read through these gorgeous recipes. During lockdown here in Australia have been mastering all sorts of Indian style dishes. The neighbours love the aroma and there's plenty to share. Thank you for your lessons.

I enjoy watching all the items you make in the videos but this one really made my mouth water right away. I could almost smell the spices blooming. This dish is so basic and I'm sure it is delicious.

I make this all the time but I oven Brown the potatoes 1st and I add a little onion and garlic and I love it

Lol that little “look” at 4:08 was the best. My favorite thing about your channel (besides the amazing recipes) is how REAL it is. “Messy” kitchen, well-used pans and utensils, kids in the background… I hope you never stop doing it this way. So-called “perfection” is boring!

This is incredible! It may become my new go-to easy meal. 💚💚💚Is there an appropriate substitute for black mustard seed? I have coriander, yellow mustard, Tellichery pepper, and a host of ground spices (including garam masala), but no black mustard. 🥺. Thx 🙏

Made this for dinner-it's delicious. Thank you. I may be beginning to get the hang of cooking some Indian dishes. Have your Healthy Indian cookbook, but this is the 1st recipe I've done that seems to taste "right". Appreciate what I'm learning about cooking Indian food from you.

Something extra I learned from Chetna: taste for salt levels. You may have everything else right in the recipe, but if you taste and it falls flat, you need a bit more salt. Somehow it brings out the spices! Add slowly, of course, and keep tasting. When I made my first biryani I was soooo disappointed after all the work- and then I learned that info a couple weeks later. Huge difference!

@@anneramirez9577 Thank you Anne, that's a good point. I love biryani, don't you? And you may have something there, because I think that has been part of what I've been disapointed by is a little flatness, even with all the spices. I'll try to remember next time. How thoughtful of you.

Potato and green bean is one of the sabzis my wife makes frequently. We have never done it with the snap peas, too, as I recall, but she generally adds a bit of copra.
