It was a cliche filled and very over acted by the guy playing tony. Ridiculously over acted, smacking his lips every time he ate and just being a caricature. And every scene was the Hollywood lbtard version of every white person in the south. It was a dreadful movie.
An amazing story. Best movie I've seen this year. Great casting, great screenplay, great actors in the leading roles. Enjoyed every minute of it. It's worthy of an oscar. Perhaps a few.
I loved this movie. I remember seeing Don Sherlly albums at one of my friends homes. Never knew what kind of music he played, until I saw this movie. I loved it.
The best film of 2018. Two totally different people from two totally different economic backgrounds wanting something that we all desperately need...unconditional love.
I have seen this movie 26 times and will watch again tonight...best movie in the last 5 years or even longer...true stories are the best...the hell with all the garbage and violence out there
I remembered watching the green book in theater with my friend and my grandmother with my mom and I gotta say one of the outstanding performances by both viggo mortensen and marshala Ali very outstanding performances.
An amazing story of a lifelong friendship! A moving tribute to the breaking down of barriers that should have never been! Have seen it multiple times. Love taking friends and family. Will go again soon! Peter and the cast and crew were flawless!
One of the best movies I've ever seen. This was the way it was back then...sad. Praises to the two main characters that did this movie!! Oscars for sure!!!
@@roxannen9291 And wasn't it worth the wait! I'm also in AUST and gotta say after seeing A Dangerous Method, Capt Fantastic and this, I'm a confirmed Viggo fan. Not familiar with the other guys work but he was also very very good in this - they had a great script and they worked it like pros - to me both very believable characterisations. Also good to see there are still a few decent American movies that honour true acting don't rely on CGI - this was an excellent story and had the sort of quality I don't expect unless it's Clint Eastwood or Robert Redford directing -- or QT, but that's a whole other bag! I really did enjoy Django Unchained.
It's really a wonderful movie! It makes us think of how could some people suffer so much some decades ago and it's sad because there are many prejudices also in our time today. We have a lot to learn, and the movies help us to remember what bad things we as humans are capable of and what good things are also capable of. Our family loved to see the movie!
@Lalo Lujan A human being, evolved from thousands of years of evolution, you mean. Only delusional people think fantasy figures are real, like children who have invisible friends.
@Lalo Lujan You can only do so much to open the eyes of the atheists, but as they say, only Zeus is perfect, one day when he's at the river desperately begging for coins to cross it will be us believers laughing it up as we stride the Elysian fields for eternity!
@Lalo Lujan if my intent on befriending God is selfish, in the way that I only made peace because I might one day need him, does this make my faith less loyal than a true believer and follower of God? Will I still recieve the same unconditional love from God? Or will I be cast to the back only to be a forgotten child?. If you so choose the path of worship, the path of God then do it based on good values and honest intentions, do it because you believe the way God intends for us to live our lives is the best way to live life. What I'm saying is if you only have a friend because one day you expect something from them, are they really a friend at all?
This film is one of them films that will stay with you for the rest of your life these two gave two of the best acting performances I have ever seen would love to see them do it again such an understated film it's a crime very well done done lads made my year and it's only February
one of the best movies i will ever see in my life. this and shawshank redemption. a lot of people don't know, but THE GREEN BOOK is a real book written by a black man with info, to help black people travel more safely. they bought it before going on a trip because in some states, certain gas stations didn't serve gas to black people or let black people travel after dark. it's something i can't even imagine.
I don't see many movies more than once. But I can see this one everyday. I laugh and I shed tears. F,ing Peter man he also does comedy mostly but he managed to make you emotional also.
This movie is magical. It did assure my ideals racism is over despite what the media tells us. Movie's like this exist because we got past the bad and respect one another. Tell that to the liberal media. We don't hate each other we love one another. That's not what they will tell you.
While it thankfully won the Best Picture Oscar, Viggo was snubbed for an acting Oscar. He is simply amazing in this role. As he was in A History of Violence and in Hildago. Not to mention Lord of the Rings.
It is so amazing that I define it an ideal model of overall Hollywood movies. It pursues perfection in nearly every single little part of the whole constitution, a masterpiece but easily accessable, well presented racism controversy featured with US flavor but friendly acceptable to global audience. Green Book will receive blow out success meanwhile ink its unique signature in movie history. Good luck in the Academy Award.
If prejudices can be wiped away, black ans white in colour and personality are a perfect match. I pray that one day the race card could mean absolutely nothing. Great movie
Excellent movie! I can really relate to Tony Lip! The Civil Rights Movement and equality are two subjects I'm passionate about! It's sad how such a talented man was treated second class just because of his skin color!
