That's because they had to add 2 more people to the band without actually having them being In the band. Their albums are heavily over dubbed with multiple players of guitars. So when they played live it didn't sound the same. For years they didn't sound very good live. Then they got another guy to cover on guitar and a keyboardist to fill in all the gaps.

Rock will never die, it's still one of the biggest genres and I'd even say the rock scene is more alive than ever, but its happening less in the mainstream media. This band has been and always will be my lifesaver. Thank you green day for changing my life forever. Any direction they decide to go, I'm with them.. always have been.. tightest band in the world. Without a doubt..
