i love it when at concerts the band starts playing in an intro to a really famous song, there's an outburst of cheers from the audience when they realize what's being played
There was a time when I was young when these guys were my absolute favorite band, I was 12 and the aggression and passion they played with inspired me to pick up a guitar and play in bands throughout my teens. By the time American Idiot came out, I was in college and the political-heavy theme didn't speak to me the same way 39/smooth, Kerplunk, Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod, and Warning did and my love for their music tapered off. Turning into adulthood I eventually lost my passion for those albums as the themes felt too immature for me at the time. Now being in my 30's...it's this song that still strikes the chord in my heart and brings it all back. The first riff I learned on guitar then I was 14 that I played over and over flailing around my room like Billie. Now I appreciate what their music did for me as a kid, and I appreciate how they themselves developed as artists.
For all you younger fans or fans that say, I miss the old green day, I miss the old green day too but it's not because they got bored, when they started to blow up they had to stop using drugs,(probably not drugs just weed) so they quit and don't have the same spirit they used too.
Are you saying it's sad that they are off drugs? Plus, I was under the impression that Billie Joe only did Weed, Alcohol, and prescription pills. Dunno about Mike, and Tre is definitely on something fucked up.
They smoked weed up until they had children, or at least use it less often anyway. Then took LSD, speed, and meth thoughout the Dookie and Insomniac era, _especially_ during Insomniac. Stopped doing that stuff around Nimrod, but Nimrod era was also the time BIllie turned to alcohol and prescription pills. That was all fine[?] (Not exactly the most ideal word, but okay..) for their time, and thankfully they got off of that stuff relatively scot-free. I'd have hated it though if they continued to use hard drugs well into their 40's.
this concert would be awesome to be in for so many reasons, the sound is fantastic, its on a small island, its a private show (I guess), and the set list here is almost perfect, great weather, close to the stage man I wish I was there !!!
where do u get wireless eq plugs for guitars and how does billie hook his amps together he can plug one into the other and another and another and he gets one sound out of it how!!????????????
this is probably my favourite green day song....along with 409 in your coffeemaker, Christie Road, and a few others....pretty hard to choose 1 favourite lol
I always come back to this. Unbelievably great guitar and bass tones. And the fact that he fucked up the verse makes this better! Live music in its purest form. It’s a reminder that these dudes really wrote and perform this song. No backing tracks or lip syncing lameness here!
