They probably had their regular tour engineer for the stadium sound, but then somebody out in the television mobile would be mixing for the broadcast. That's a bit different than mixing for the PA as broadcast has some limitations that you don't have with live sound. It looks like Billie Joe's guitar was pretty light in the mix at 4:03, so it wasn't perfect, but it was pretty damn good!

Yeah, but they definitely added a few things here and there. At 4:58 and 5:32, you can hear stuff Tré doesn't play and it's not a delay or anything. The engineer probably added that later for the video.

Many of the tracks played were studio tracks. Mixing those with the live stuff can't be easy to do and sounds great for a show overall!

Not taking anything away from Green Day, who were amazing, but maybe last year’s lame country show in Regina erased your memory of all of the big acts that have come before (Google it.) The Arkells put on a memorable performance that rocked Tim Hortons Field just two years ago. Plus, I can’t think of many Super Bowl games that could top what we saw yesterday.

Hi! I'm amazed at how well they kept mikes sound organized with the drum sound that kept Billy singing damn good. Really could hear their beautiful Thumps. I'm still a crazy fan, fam. The chord rips, let it Be! Really sounded traditional to the garage. Awesome 👍❤

Damn this is the fullest I’ve heard the band from a live perspective in a while, and I think it really came through on TADIKM. Compare the two of the live version here and the recorded version and damn. The drums have this gut punch to them, the guitars are vibrant, Mike’s bass is really cutting through either because of the mix itself and/or using that old Gibson G3, Billie’s vocals sound great, just god damn do they sound good! I’m finally seeing them live for the first time next year on their tour after having been a fan since I was like 12, and I’ll be 27 when I see them. Top of my bucket list, and I can’t wait!

It makes sense to switch them for this scenario. Ending the halftime show with a ballad doesn’t make sense for the context they are in.
