@@DannyPaps94 Thank you! I will be in the pit for the Milwaukee show in just under two weeks. Do you remember when you got in line before the gates open to help you get such a great spot?
i’m a green day fan, but my brother is a MUCH bigger fan than me. he knew the setlist going into this concert, but i didn’t. i was pretty much just along for the ride. but when i realized they were playing dookie in full, i didn’t think they would play coming clean. i NEVER thought i would be able to see that song live, and i started CRYING when they played it. i love that song sm. then they started playing other songs, but then it changed into american idiot in full. (i know all of american idiot not dookie) and STILL i didn’t believe they were gonna play it in full. and then they played letterbomb, which i NEVER thought i would hear live. and then they played whatsername. words can’t even describe how much i love that song, and i still didn’t believe they were gonna play it until they did. i started BAWLING. the tears were uncontrollable like i genuinely could not stop crying it was just so surreal being able to see and hear these songs live. i’m 19, so it’s not like i would’ve had the chance to see it when these songs first came out. this was one of the best concerts i’ve ever seen. and im SO HAPPY i was able to see these songs live. it was amazing. (smashing pumpkins made me cry too, seeing disarm and 1979 live also made me CRY. i guess i was just in a crying mood that day :)
This concert was completely maniacal. Fantastic from start to finish, we missed rancid but smashing pumpkins was as good as I've ever heard them. 37 songs later from when the rabbit took the stage to the Ramones.... I was exhausted. One of the best shows I've ever seen
It was my first time listening to SP live and hearing 1979 live gave me chills. I was high the whole time I was at the concert. Eating French fries and a hotdog
I was at this amazing show last night. Today I made a longtime dream come true and bought one of Billie Joe Armstrong's actual guitars. The first CD I ever bought was Bullet In a BIble. First time I ever got emotional buying a guitar. Green Day has done so much for me, even have a Green Day tattoo. Thanks for the amazing show.
I missed this show due to illness. First time I saw green day was 1993-94 at a small bar in Philly and then Jersey. It's a good feeling I got to see them back in the day. We'd snowboard all day and then go see them play with other punk style bands of that time.
Thank you for this upload! So many people will watch this back for years to relive our memories of that. Also my god at the energy for American Idiot/Jesus of Suburbia/Holiday/Blvd back to back to back to back my god
I saw them in Charlotte a couple days ago and they honestly killed it. I absolutely love seeing how Billie acts onstage at his age. He’s obviously older, but he still puts his heart and soul to these performances. You can tell he genuinely cares about his fans giving them the show they all deserve to the best of his ability. The way they played the other night absolutely hit me with so many good memories of how they did years ago. So awesome to see them having fun onstage still at their ages.
Such a great show they played over 2 1/2 set with no breaks. I was there but in the nosebleeds. There was such great energy in the crowd! Having Deadpool and Wolverine at the end was my favorite part
full screen and headphones to watch this... if I didn't have a gig with my band I would had attend a Green Dy show in my own country (Switzerland). I hope they are coming back there someday so I can finally see them live
your arms have to have been tired holding up the cam the entire time lol. I had floor seats!! If I was my younger self tho 10 years ago, I would have done the mosh pit. THE SHOW WAS SOOOO GOOOOODDD!!!!!!
i was slightly back in the pit but i had a good front view. i got some footage of my spot too. i was on the jumbo tron like 5 times because im so tall. i was in the first 100 people in
the dude screaming im the son of rage and love is my spirit animal, i do the same thing when it comes on my playlist. You get some weird looks in public......
Side note, Citi Field was fantastic for sound production. I think only one song that I hear any sort of echo coming from the home plate area. I'll definitely go see many a concert there from this point on. So much better than MetLife sound wise
Seen em maybe 8 times over the years since 97. Always fun no matter what size stage. One time at hfstival in Baltimore or DC they set the drums on fire and the crowd tore up the floorboards like Woodstock 99 during king for a day. I remember surfing on top on one and it was absolutely a riot and a half
@@DannyPaps94 at least they have the monitors. Back in my teens when I saw the Pumpkins, if you didn’t spend the money, you didn’t see anything but just listened, lol I guess being old, it doesn’t phase me much I’m old enough that I was at the second Lalapolooza, lol. My parents thought I was on Fire Island with a friends family though 🤣. So the technology is pretty good compared to those days 🤣 Saw Green Day and the Pumpkins in 94 or 95 one? Not sure Green Day actually went to that show though. We went upstate to Saratoga Springs for that one
@@ScorpionTrix I’m sorry, but could you please explain this better. I would prefer to know what my video would be used for and at least try to give permission on it being used in some other format.
@@DannyPaps94 you don't own the audio bud. I'm taking the audio from your video. Deal with it. If you owned the music it would be different. In other words, I dont need your permission. Haven't you seen bands record the audio from a live show and make an album? You posting this alone should give you a copyright. Cuz again, you don't own the music...
@@ScorpionTrix Way to sound like a jerk, buddy. I'm saying, if you plan on posting your creation online, please tag/credit me somewhere in it as you wouldn't have the audio without my hard work of recording this whole show for people online to be able to access.
@@DannyPaps94 🤣 i won't tag you. You don't own the music. It was your choice to post this and record the entire show. Also I sound like a jerk cuz I know what I'm talking about. Copyright is a thing. Making a Playlist of the music from a live show shouldn't and will never require me giving you a fan like myself credit for recording them. Sorry but I don't do that. I give credit where credit is due
@@ScorpionTrix No one said I owned the music. Regardless, you would not even have the ability to "chop" anything up for "making a playlist" out of the audio had I not made the choice to record this concert in the first place. I don't think asking for a simple tag for my channel is a lot. I get to most of the shows I go to very early in order to be up front as close as possible to the artists and to get great footage like this for people to be able to re-live the moments from the shows and or for any fans of the artists in general. At the end of the day, you're going to do what you're going to do. But I'm asking you kindly to please try and credit/tag me somehow if you plan to use the video in some capacity for something you create.
Im interested to know why their song lyrics are at billies feet. is it really possible he'll forget or lose his place? or is it for cues for the instrumentalists? was at this show. great footage!
It's most likely the setlist with cues for switching instruments, like you mentioned... also worth noting, I was at this show and he did forget the lyrics to one of the songs briefly (can't remember which one, Sassafras Roots maybe?). Also when I saw them in 2013, he notoriously forgot the lyrics to Holiday and joked about it during the bridge lol so yeah, it's definitely possible!
@@katastrophe5247 lol their pyro shots made ME jump. i cant imagine how they must be on stage. saw a track list with markers indicating what effects there will be
Some people cannot sing lol. Some people around you are so off key, but it’s all good. Everyone’s having fun and that’s what’s important. Being safe and having fun.
I remember seeing them when they were still playing small venues with nothing but a GD flag behind them. So bummed I couldn't make ot to this show. Haven't seen them live since the American idiot tour. Buy I saw them like 8 or 9 times in the early days. Most fun live band around.
@DannyPaps94 they had a big stage set up for American Idiot. But before that, it was like seeing a small band. Craziest progression of a stage performance I've ever seen. The first few shows I saw were my favorite. I dig the big stage set too, but seeing the small stage was so sick. Get out to smaller shows now. Some of these bands out there will have a similar trajectory. Been following a small.band called surfer girl and they are blowing up. Chill vibes band. Lole tropidelic. Another small band blowing up and growing now. On the heavier side, keep an eye on erase me. Super heavy and sick af!
@@DanRyan-d8q The videos get copyrighted and the respective owners of the "audio" of the songs get the profit. I get nothing from most of these videos because of that, but I don't do it for the money. I do it for the people who wanna re-live the shows or for those who couldn't be in attendance :)
@@DannyPaps94 No thats totally cool, I have some video footage of concerts I want to post on youtube also just for fun not money. That being said, before I post my videos is there something specific I have to do so they don't ding my channel?
@@DanRyan-d8q As far as I know, no. I just post the videos and generally RU-vid’s algorithm will check the audio for copyrights and mark the video as such if it is detected. Sometimes, it doesn’t make sense why certain videos get taken down, but there isn’t too much you can do.
So they’re really playing dookie and American idiot in their entirety? Plus of course some saviors songs. Man I can’t wait to see them this weekend on 9/14/24
