So far the best start has been to curl up in a fetal position while staring wildly at the middle distance murmuring mother goose rhymes and crying....allot of crying. Let's try your way.
Concerning early shelters so your fire doesn’t go out, there is a small cave up the hill and to the left from the oasis you begin the game, just big enough for a leaf bed and a fire just inside the entrance. Saves you the hassle of having to build a frame and roof on day 1. Also there is a single obsidian stone inside, i would suggest saving that for later crafting.
I have watched many starting tutorials for many games. You sir, rock! Quick, to the point and on to the next. Key presses and all. Nothing missed. You are a natural. 2 thumbs up!
Thank you Raze. That video took a long time to put together! Lol I had so many clips scattered through Filmora all day yesterday that my head was spinning.
NeightWolf49 Survival & Military Gaming Man I can imagine I saw how you were jumping back and worth making everything flow nicely. Great quality content like always.
Thank you so much for the help. I’m not doing too bad but I really felt like I could use a few tips. Glad I looked because there are a few things here I didn’t know or was a bit confused about. Also has anyone told you that you sound kind of like Jeff Daniels?
Hey Greenthumb, thanks for the comment and compliment. I am glad the video helped you out. I have never gotten Jeff Daniels before. I have gotten ‘you look like Uncle Fester’ a lot 🤣🤣 and most recently ‘Hank from Breaking Bad’. Lol Thanks again. Hope all is well.
For my playthrough, after I got used to the mechanics and learned all the basics to survive without hurting myself and dying. I actually decided to go around the entire map and place huts to save/sleep on all the flat areas, that way I could navigate the entire map knowing that I would eventually come upon a hut to sleep in. Thats just how I play anyway
@@NeightWolf49 My early on troubles are trying to find or knock down coconuts, and trying to find enough rocks to craft stones. The game is brilliant though.
@@NeightWolf49I wonder if there's any randomness to finding resources then, because during my first two hour session, where I found no coconuts and had to drink parasite enriched water, it was brutal and I'd course lead to insanity. My second start is going a little better, after getting more used to the game mechanics and your tips, but man, the game has some initial brutality to it... unless I just suck. Heheh
I read reviews on this game, most saying it was a pretty good and difficult survival game. I decided to try it out not realizing how in-depth it was. The need for diverse food, inspecting and the fact that everything will try to kill you, made this one of my favorite survival games. This was a very useful guide which helped me inch my way into the game.
@@NeightWolf49 Phenomenal is a perfect word for it. It amazed me at how different it was from other survival games. It has a very unique take on the survival aspect which I love.
I agree. I enjoy the medical aspects, the various foods (as you mentioned above) and just the constant suspense of the game. Have you gone ‘insane’ in the game yet? I thought that I was literally losing my mind. Very immersive
@@NeightWolf49 Not quite yet luckily. I've only played close to 5 - 6 hours, most of the time was me dying, but have finally gotten to a point where I can begin building and exploring. I am very excited to get deeper into Green Hell!
Glad it helped Robert. Thank you for stopping in and checking it out and leaving feedback. Good luck in Green Hell. Certainly one of the most brutal games in the genre out there.
The problem with this game is it's combat system is very...i guess the best word is "unfair". When i go to do combat with natives, it doesn't swing (every time) when i press a button to attack. Also, the range of my spear vs their knife, it's backwards giving them the range. So, maybe it's called "Green Hell" because, unless you memorize their movements, it is hell.
Well done. I like your approach. People get way too obsessed with getting a shelter when you need a bed and fire/ food, and make a shelter when you not imminently in danger of anything. Personally I made like beds around the Amazon, without making a shelter, making a shelter in key areas to save. I still need to learn more about upgrading tools.
Lol. Green Hell does that to you. Lol Brutal game to try and learn on the fly. Have you had ‘insanity’ yet? You will legit feel like you are going nuts.
"A leech, or 3" "A parasite, or 7" Not sure why, but hearing these lines made me laugh way too hard. It's an extremely accurate description of the afflictions and ailments you can get in Green Hell. Great video my man
In story mode: from spawn, head north east until you hit a muddy river bed. Take a right and follow this until you get to flowing water, follow this upstream and you’ll eventually get to the ayahuasca/map tribal camp
I'm planning a story mode game series on this, for the level after Welcome to the Jungle. Is it cool if I reference and point folks in your direction for these tutorials? I want to make sure anyone that watches my channel knows to look at yours too. I appreciate you making this video, alot of folks stay away from the game because they think it's too hard. It's a tough challenge, but videos like this make it easier to deal with.
Killer content! As a new PC gamer this game was mentioned on many Google searches for survival sims. Your content is clear and concise. You got a new sub my guy.
Thank you Jake! I appreciate those kind words and the feedback. You’ll have a ball with Green Hell. Wait until you go ‘insane’. You literally feel like you are lol Welcome to the WolfPack! I am lacking content recently, but I will be back soon. Going full time YT next year.
No problem. I hope you got something out of it. Believe it or not, I get a lot of flack for breaking it down that basic. I know some players look for that though. Thank you for the comment.
