Basically i agree, drinking the water from natural sources isn’t a good idea. But once you find those mushrooms which cure parasites you can drink the water until you find first couple of coconuts

You can carry more than one log at a time. Don't need to pick up one and carry it back each time. If it's raining, your meat dryer won't function and it will actually regress the dryness of the meats that are sitting on the dryer. I ended up building a frame with a palm roof to cover it up, then I put my fire in there as well. Harvest some mud from the river to learn the mud mixer recipe. Then once you craft some mud bricks, you can get started on building mud structures. Some walls can really help you feel more secure in that big open abandoned native camp.

So far with story survival just havent found it worth building yet but ty for tips. Meat dryer one i didnt know

@@JadePGSurvival Some other stuff that the tutorial didn't teach me that came in handy: Obviously you will be attacked by an ant swarm if you get too close to an ant hill. If you have a burning torch in your hand, the ants will not attack you and you can harvest the ants. You can use ants as an emergency suture/stitching for wounds, although it will hurt and cost you sanity. Harvest one bone and keep some bone needles on you. You can use bone needles to pick worms from under your skin if you get worms. Bones are also a really easy/good source of protein and fat. Get a coconut shell, put water in it, place it on the side of a fire to boil, then boil a bone to create bone infusion soup. So far the only mushroom I have encountered that is dangerous to eat raw is the one that looks like spider webs. It's safe to eat if you boil it. The blue mushrooms that grow on the large trees are great to eat raw because they give you energy as well.

I slept on that abaondned native camp countless times and nothing bad ever happened, since i did not use a guide it took me quite a while to get there, i built a camp by the water fall as well. Also i have never had anything bad happened to me fromm drinking unsafe water, but dirry water will give you parasites.

2 more dangerous spots to live at is the drug den. Natives often come down near the river. The other place is near the crashed plane. Natives can setup camp inside the bamboos nearby making it difficult to sneak by.

You can eat ALL the mushrooms - but that big white and brown one, with the white veil, needs to be boiled into a mushroom soup. Same with the big/long white "unknown bulb" (called "kassava"), and the oval beige colored "unknown bulb" (called "malanga")... The pickaxe is for iron ores. Dont use it to chop down trees. Instead use 2 REGULAR stones with a stick and some rope, and then you get a slightly better axe than the one with just 1 stone - and VASTLY better than the pickaxe. The best stone axe is probably the one with 3 stone blades though, but it is relatively "expensive", so to begin with, it is better to craft the ones with 2 stones. Pick up ALL the stones you find to begin with, and craft this axe with 2 stones as often as you can in the beginning of the game (not if you need to craft a knife or a spear - of course...). Keep the one with the highest durability, and destroy the rest. Good way to increase your crafting skills early on, so your axe does not break so often...

Took 3 days to build a basic shelter on a different playthrough, I literally did everything the devs did in their official tutorial. He did it in 1 day. Took me 3.

You can pop a stone trap in the place where you get an obsidian stone and regularly get caiman lizards.

With 1 long stick you can make a weak spear and catch one of those long fish in the pond you start at, gives fish bones which could be useful if you accidentally get a worm

not even one day in, sunset, building a little shelter (for my own peace of mind and I wanted a save set for after all the intro shit) and I get jumped by a jaguar or some shit, fended it off, started crafting bandages to patch the bleeding but it was too late... loving this game so far! glad I found your content so I can, you know... survive more than *most* of my first day lmao

Nothing wrong here, but im still very happy that i didnt watch this before I played. I loved not knowing what to expect and where to camp in the first hours. There are not beginner tips, but a walkthrough.

When placing a roof on a frame, just point at the ground in the middle of the frame, yer dafty. Don't have to slowly back up to find a the sweet spot. :P

you can combine a coconut and rope to make a container, which you can drag into a river or lake and collect water, which you can then put into coconut bowls over a fire to boil it clean

Don't know if you still care, but some palm trees spawn coconuts and you can throw rocks to get them down. You can combine an empty coconut with rope to make a container for collecting dirty water. You can then boil dirty water in a coconut bowl (or the pot, which i haven't found) at a fire for clean water. Its a bit tedious tbh.

Cutscene played, started at the waterfall, died in 10 irl minutes. No stones, no bananas, no nuts, no sticks, nothing. Went across log, snakebite and that was the end. This shit is too hard.

Hover over a large rock, and harvest it. It gives you small stones. Then cut down small tress with it to get sticks.

Look at the large stick on the ground. Then go into crafting, then move the stick to the crafting rock.

@@Kasper-T Green Hell is made by Creepy Jar. The Forest is made by EndNight Games Ltd. The Forest is a similar game, but nowhere near as detailed or difficult as Green Hell. The Forest is more of a survival horror, with an emphasis on "horror". Green Hell is more realistic and difficult. Both are great games.

I keep saying this but I'm positive there is a difficulty difference between PC and consoles because even with my nutrient depletion on LOW and my health, energy bars deplete waaaaaay faster than anybody in any video I've watched. Unfortunately this video is informative but not helpful so I'm I'm gonna have to dislike on principle.

@@JadePGSurvival I disliked it because it wasn't helpful to me. I never said anything about the guide being for console or PC I said there is a difficulty difference between the two because even on low my stats deplete way faster than anybody else I've seen play in any video. From walking around not running, gathering sticks rocks etc at the very beginning before even chopping trees or attempting to build anything my energy was half way gone. It's obviously a game mechanic and in no way your fault. That being said, guide should have a disclaimer. I wasn't trying to be rude, just frustrated at the game and nobody's guides help. Helpful hints and tips yes, actually help to survive, negative. In conclusion, since I'm a jerk and a fool, unsubscribed, good day sir.
