Nah Lantern is not really black.. for ppl who don't know. in the whole time line there's lot of green lanterns. like Robins in batman. some white some black. cuz when kids read comics. all the superhero's can't be white guys. and bats are farm boy Kent are. so to balance it out

@BmCNinJa right he is badass thats why they should but i think it has to do a bit because he's black cause they all know a Spawn movie will generate more money than Superman,fantastic 4,thor or any other hero movie cause he is a badass and us guys like that and even girls so yeah that's my opinion i hope that if they do it goes toe to toe with the likes of The Dark Knight i loved that movie(cause of the joker) and i think they could make a movie about spawn that can at least get close to that 1.

@Kenpachi0Sephiroth0 The original GL was white. But like I said I would of liked them doing the third incarnation(the black one) instead Unless you count hancock or iron man 2 there isnt one live action with a black guy BUT, in daredevil the bad guy was suppose to be white. I just want to state that, Im not saying its a good trade off However they are making, Black Adam (Captain Marvel) Black Panther and Luke Cage... all three are black superheroes. So just be patient.

@yogurtpimp I mean which movie like the avengers or thor is coming out with a black super hero also i bet a Spawn movie which features a black badass protagonist who would most definitely fill there pockets why don't they make a remake i mean Superman,Hulk,Batman and some others have had there remakes why not remake something epic like Spawn who i find more entertaining than a dude with a ring,or a guy swinging in spider webs and Spawn is black. Note im not black nor white im in the middle

@yogurtpimp ok i won't go mentioning off something is "racist" as you say but in exchange I want you to tell me which Super Heroe movie has come out with a Black Protagonist and i mean a movie that is like Spiderman,the Hulk,Iron-Man...etc before you say they are supposed 2 be white protagonists,why can't 1 of them been invented black in comic or if they were originally black like this green lantern why can't he stay black another question which upcoming movie features a black protagonist

@yogurtpimp I think they just wanted to start from it's roots and modernized. though they should have with Alan Scott who was the first Green Lantern. Maybe they had licensing issue that prevent them from doing that or something.

@Kenpachi0Sephiroth0 Well 1 dont go off saying something is racist just because it has a white guy in it. 2 I dont know why they went with Hal Jordan instead of John Stuart. I would of liked to have seen it too.

I find it a bit weird that the same actor (ryan reynolds) who played Deadpool in origins is playing Green Lantern in a DC movie.

@Kenpachi0Sephiroth0 There were also a number of black superheroes in X men aswell Im half white and half red ive been waiting for an Amerindian super hero movie. Thats never gonna happen, but still.

@XmenMarvel actually, there are like 3 lanterns. I think he's the first, the black one is the third if I'm correct. He's the one featured in the cartoon JL
