Thank you for your very impressive review of all those laser levels. From that I went out and bought a Bosch GLL -3-80 CG and am very happy with the performance. I have added a couple of observation that may be of interest. There are 3 intensity levels for this laser that can only be changed through the use of the phone app, they are medium (default level), high and low plus the laser can be turned off, this was mentioned by others. The high level is considerably higher than the default output but not enough to see it in direct sun light although laser line can easily be seen in indirect sun light up to 3 to 4 metres. From my estimates it would be on par to the brightness of the Milwaukee that you tested. The laser seems to work fine on 4 rechargeable AA batteries with amount of charge correctly indicating it battery capacity on the display. I found that I had no problem doing fine adjustment in the horizontal plane by just rotating the laser level but the vertical adjustment on the mount is very stiff and the adjustment knob is too smooth to get a good grip. The AA battery holder is very difficult to remove and it is easier to open the AA battery holder in the laser to change the batteries than trying to remove it. There are two versions of the laser. The earlier version has “Cal guard” were as in the later version this feature has been removed, including the “cal guard” button. The Bosch 360 laser level is made in China. In Australia there is an extended 6 year warranty by registering the laser level on the Bosch website. To do this registration process is rather challenging as it doesn’t like Mozilla Firefox web browser and gives no indication of the problem. The Bosch web site is also very slow.

I own the dewalt 12v 360 and it's my most valued tool now. Can use it for everything! 12v lasts me for 2-3 days (16-24 hours) The 18v would seem like over kill plus more weight. Also the 12v 360 is light enough the magnet will hold itself on metal corner bead which is awesome. I wouldn't trust to leave it there since I have a pole for it. But it's nice for quickly picking a height and just checking things real quick. I highly recommend using any green laser for work. Nothing looks better then your tile grout lines going around the whole room all lining up on the horizontal laser level when customer walks in :D

I"ve been running the Dewalt 12V for at least 5 years now. I have a 2nd one now and still it keeps beating the drum...unbelievable. I only got the second one because I thought it would give up the ghost soon....still hanging in there! Commercial carpenter using this literally hours daily on average 3 days a week I'd say. Only thing I would say is battery is starting to fade slightly after 5 years, but still runs 4+ hours. Outside of that I have dropped it over 12 feet onto direct concrete 2 times and 2nd reason why I bought number 2 unit....just in case, but it's still just as accurate and I like the older case better so it's my go too for 100 foot max distances. Always put up center of max distances to cut your deviations in half. Excellent product!

I bought the Bosch 360 last year to replace my other laser that died. Didn't even use it half a dozen times before it quit working and Bosch warranty was the worst. I sent it in early April 2021, after they "lost it" and "found it" I finally got a replacement....which was USED, scratched and had spray paint on it. And it was a red laser when I sent in a green laser. After another 2 months of complaining to them and they now didn't know where this other unit ended up, I finally got a brand new replacement in August 2021.

I can’t say much about the hilti as it’s been years since I’ve used one. I’m aiming to find one to have a look at hopefully. The Bosch did seriously good and is cheaper than the Milwaukee. Awesome man! This review is exactly what I was looking for, Great comparison for green laser technology. I use Bosch 360 and the only complain is lack of that micro adjustment knob, the laser on BM1 mount rotates itself with even small wind or vibration on the site and there is no lock or knob to avoid/adjust it. I think Bosch will release new model to address this issue soon because these major brands are in great race for laser measuring devices these days. Thank you 🥂

I use both milwaukee and dewalt battery platforms for my work. I was looking at the dewalt 360 and that's what took me here (not for a comparison but mostly to see what it's like), it was a quite in-depth look at everything. I'm probably going to go for the milwaukee 360 - it's considerably brighter by the looks of this (I didn't even know milwaukee had one TBH). also I feel like dewalt is losing it's luster for me...I've got bags and bags of dewalt tools as that was my go-to for years, but their customer service is awful. or maybe the lady I spoke to was just having a bad day. either way, since that day I've been buying milwaukee for both of my company's new tool purchases. anyway, rambling aside...you did a great review. all points considered that I was wondering about. now I just need to settle on a laser mounting pole 🤔😂

The reason the 3-plane Milwaukee laser isn’t as bright as the 2-plane Milwaukee laser is because the 3-plane laser pulses (faster than you can see with the naked eye) where the 2-plane laser does not pulse, giving it a much brighter appearance.

Did you turn the brightness up to max on the Bosch lasers via the app ? Once the lasers are turned off and on it reset back to medium brightness and have go back into the app to turn brightness up
@AddictedtoTools
@AddictedtoTools 2 года назад
hey Andrew. I didn't know about that. if the bosch laser can be turned up from what it was, then that could be a game changer. the 360 already did well. ill have to check that out and have another look into it. thanks again for the info
@Andrew-xd9fg
@Andrew-xd9fg 2 года назад
It’s not a matter of if it can be turned up, it can. It states this play as day in the instructions. Like I already said both Bosch lasers default settings is medium and has to set to high via the app every time it’s turned off and on. Will you be updating your video ? The results aren’t true and gives people the wrong information. Also you didn’t touch on which of the lasers can be re calibrated. A few of the lasers in your line up have non adjustable pendulums. Once dropped and are out they can’t be re calibrated, throw them in the bin.

@@AddictedtoTools did you also check the accuracy of each laser, with the 360 ladtes it's as easy turning them 180 and seeing if there's a difference, I went into total tools in Beenleigh 2 yrs ago, every last was out the Max allowable at brand new .. except the el cheapo "general titanium" baha .. it was there I found out only Imex supply a calibration certificate with the laser, Andrew is referring to the older model dewalt that can't be repaired or calibrated if it is out in certain ways due to the casing not being able to be opened .. it's crap that brand new lasers can be put 3mm from brand new when you take then to an authorised service agent pay $150 and they get heaps better..

If that's the Bosch GLL3-330CG model I can guarantee you that has the most potent beam out of all of those models and can be detected the furthest outdoors b/c of how strong the laser is. Only thing is it's a $500 model on average. If you're wanting a crossline laser level there's 3 accessories that you have to have or depending on what you're using it for, you may only need one or two of them. If you're using it to transfer elevations, then you definitely want to get a telescoping laser level pole. It's a pole that the laser level attaches to via brackets, and you can raise/lower your laser level until you match up with the correct elevation. If you're going to use your LLvL for outdoor use, you have to get a receiver to detect the laser line b/c you won't be able to see it most likely but often you don't need to see the entire laser line. You just need to know where it intersects something like a batter board or something like that. Make sure you buy one that is compatible with your laser level. Not all laser level models can be detected by receivers so if you plan on using this make sure you buy a laser level that has a receiver that it can pair with. The 3rd accessory is not made or sold by the laser level manufacturers but if you're trying to line your vertical lines on a target point that's over 15 ft away, this gets very difficult and time consuming to do by hand. You need to buy a high precision manual rotation stage (make sure it's one that has matching screw hole size as your laser level or else you'll have to buy an adapter screw). A high precision manual rotation stage is a device that's used in the optics industry mostly. It's a small device that has a round stage on top and that's where the laser level attaches to. It will have knobs on it that you turn and it will spin the round stage and laser level in very fine amounts of movement. This allows you to lock onto target points far away so much easier and faster. There is a Huepar adapter mount that has a cheap version of one of these built into it but the gears inside are absolute crap and they will only last about a year. Buy a metal high precision rotation stage. I bought a 60mm diameter stage for about $45 off walmart.com and i can lock onto targets up to 50 ft away. Edmund Optics is an optics company that makes them also.
