There definitely times that i heard jarrod in your words and the excitement in your voice. Great finds! Hampton butte did not disappoint! Gorgeous finds! thanks for sharing!

Oh wow, that is such a humbling thought about Jarrod. It's great to carry his memory through the jubilance in all that he would have enjoyed. Hampton disappointed twice before this trip so I guess some places you really need to give a fair chance/es to. It was such a fun time, we may go again before the year is over (even though it's frozen). Thanks for sharing your thoughts and hanging out in the chat. Cheers and stay warm!

Very nice material, that green doesn't look like a copper green, Interesting. There is a lot about you that reminds me of my wife. All good. Thank you for the journey, it was definitely enjoyable
@OzoneFineArtVentures
@OzoneFineArtVentures Год назад
The incredible material comes out of there in a complete range of colors, pretty amazing. I read that the color comes from copper but I think there's chromium in the area as well? The sunstones are south of there and they display a pretty big range of valence on the copper as well. I need to do more research...and more digging, lol. Thanks for watching, cheers!

That's so good to know, Julie! I always wonder if the video gets too long and boring if there's too much cutting, lol. To me, there can't be enough as well. I'll be doing some strictly cutting videos coming up since 'tis the season to be inside. Thanks again for watching!

Oh, Karen! Shazam! 💥 That was an exciting adventure. 😮 Everything was stellar. I LOVED the lime green type piece. How cool. I’ve never seen a piece like that before. As for the yellow, crystal vuggy one, if it were me, I wouldn’t cut it. I adore all the character it already has. But, everyone’s eye for special, is unique to each person 🫶 The half round piece, I can see you polishing just a side to show off the inside or the trunk. I’m looking forward your winter projects. ❤ Stay Crystal 💫 Mari

I've never seen material like that before either! Crazy! The butte has risen to the top of locations I won't mind spending more time in. I agree about the crystal vug cast, I think it needs to be a specimen piece...that sits by my side for adoration, lol. I really love that chunk more than I thought I would. I'll probably cut the burl one, though, so intrigued to see what they look like inside! Good call on the big green wood, that's probably exactly what I'll do. Thanks for watching, Mari! Cheers!

Wowza! What a cool bunch of rocks. It appears Hampton Butte didn't disappoint. You wanted green petrified wood and you got it and sooooo much more. I loved all the jaspers aaannnndddd the cutting. You keep and deal in specimens so I guess a polished face would be good in lieu of cutting. Did I just say that? It tells you how mesmerizing the trip was. I was entranced or in a trance, I not sure which. Your trecks have been fun and it looks like you may have gotten a little recharged. Hi to the voice behind the camera and his great drone shots. Woof to your fur babies. Keep the fun and goodness coming. Be happy, safe and stay healthy. 😷⚒ 🌲🌴

I'm a new convert, lol. I've seen everyone else's beautiful spoils from there and wondered what I was missing. One problem was that we were camping just to lay up on the way out farther east typically and didn't give it enough time. We can't wait to go back out since it's much closer than some of our other favorite haunts (like Succor, Graveyard, and the Owyhee). Thanks again for watching and happy hunting!

With the kind of scores you make, especially at Haunted, I don't blame you for killing time trying to see what you've got on site. I was trying to peek just to see if I was on to what I thought I should be finding. Dirt is so dirty! It's even worse when it gets muddy, lol. So yeah, save it for the high powered hose. It was a good time, I hope you can get out here at some point and vice versa, I'd love to come kill it at some of the spots you go to. Cheers!

There were so many surprises this time around. As I'd mentioned, I had tried this spot for short visits before and really didn't do that well. It's a good place to over night when going to farther reaches on the east side of our state. I know I won't be doing a fly by next time, I can't wait to spend some more time there. I did get eaten alive by bugs one time we stopped so I guess there's a season there as well. Thanks again for watching and cheers!

Great finds! I’m glad you got to go back and try again. I was out there sept 30th for the afternoon and scored a nice bucket of chonks. Did you venture far from the central camp area? Been wondering how far out we can go and still find wood. Is there a known border? Thanks for posting your adventures!
@OzoneFineArtVentures
@OzoneFineArtVentures Год назад
We were there VERY close to the same time! It was beautiful weather. I'm so happy we ventured back, it really redeemed the place from our first two visits. We were not at the camp area this time, which really helped, though close by. We have OnX so we made sure we knew where we needed to stay contained, don't want to get onto the wrong property. I don't know if there's a known border to the material bearing grounds but that area put aside is where everyone goes apparently. It sounds like you guys did great. Thanks for watching!

Beautiful. I was wondering why in every rock cutting video I watch, no one cuts down center.
@OzoneFineArtVentures
@OzoneFineArtVentures 8 месяцев назад
Interesting observation about the cuts. I would imagine it has a lot to do with what material you are working and what the lapidary wants to make from it. Down the center of great for thunder eggs while it would not show the best part if you were cutting petrified wood rounds. If one is thinking slabs, you start at one end hoping to slice the whole thing like a ham. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
