This was super interesting, i love watching these kinds of things, just a simple, step by step process of the mundane maintenance of everyday things.

I take it that after cleaning debris and backwashing I would leave the hayward sand filter in the filter setting when adding the 12 lbs of shock? I have 68% dry-teck shock.
@ClearlySeen
@ClearlySeen 2 года назад
Yes you would put it on the filter position a couple of things to note the amount of granular chlorine is going to depend on your pool size so the amount I use in the video it’s probably gonna be different than what you need.

23,000 gallon pool. Filters 4, no back wash capacity. The pool has been setting for about 6 months. I added algecid. How much clorine to add?
@ClearlySeen
@ClearlySeen 2 месяца назад
If I was servicing that pool locally where I am, I would put about 7 gallons of liquid chlorine in the pool after I have cleaned the filters and set it to run 24 seven the second day you would check the free chlorine and clean the filters again if the chlorine is not on the high side, then you’re going to want to repeat With the liquid chlorine, the same amount again typically that will kill off the algae!

Hello seen. Hope you doing good summer. Question. Can I add cal hypo in the skimmer regardless of what type of filters I have if DE or sand or cartilage. Does it damage the filter or clogged it I heard if use all the timer in the skimmer. I’m talking about weekly maintenance dose not just green to clean. Thanks
@ClearlySeen
@ClearlySeen Год назад
Yes you can use it in the skimmer with all filters just make sure it’s not returning back to the pool from a hole and settling to the bottom. If you have a chlorinator I wouldn’t add it to the skimmer that can be a problem if it mixes with tablets. If you use it as a maintenance dose weekly just premix it in a bucket.
@marwan6767
@marwan6767 Год назад
Ok so if I miix it with bucket of water do I still add it into the skimmer or broadcasted over the pool

i am having trouble clearing my pool up it stays green and everything is balanced. I bought some no more problems for first time and i get it tomorrow. How much should i add and chlorine to 22,000 gallon pool....i got ph down to about 7.2-7.4 is that all i need or what else should i do, i am going to add calcium hyp and tablets with sun protection...any info you can give will be greatly appreciated. most ppl say no more problems is only to prevent algae so i was scared to buy it but i tried everything else so im gonna try it out tomorrow. i dont have money to add 12 lbs though i can only afford 24 lbs a month thanks
@ClearlySeen
@ClearlySeen Год назад
Hi there whenever your pool is green it’s going to require a certain amount of shock to kill off the algae. There’s no way around it whenever you put in shock whether it’s granular or liquid if you run it overnight and the next day it looks green then you did not add enough so typically for a pool like that, I would at least add 10 pounds of granular chlorine or maybe 5 gallons of liquid chlorine. If you underdo it it’s probably going to stay green the no more problems works great in conjunction with shock but it’s more of a preventative. I do put it in my green pools because it has sodium bromide in it, which is typically yellow treat the same ingredient you’ll know if you put enough by the next day the pool will be a whitish grayish if it’s still green, then you under did the chlorine also remember to brush the pool down before you put the chemicals in
@bradellender7969
@bradellender7969 Год назад
ok i dont have the money to put 10 lbs in there i put 5lbs and20oz of no mo problems my pool is green but not as bad as in your video. its been 6 hours so far nothing has changed but ph is 7.2 i have tablets coming in tomorrow and i ordered some phosphate remover too....hopefully something clearsup i remember as a kid a little chlorine and algaecide turned a swamp from green to blue over night it doesnt do that anymore for us and everything is balanced ill write back in a day or 2 for results

What do I do if I have no chlorine and ph high what goes first lower the ph and then the chlorine ?
@ClearlySeen
@ClearlySeen 2 месяца назад
Yes, you’re gonna want to lower the pH down so that the chlorine can be effective. If the pH is high, then the chlorine cannot kill the algae effectively.

@@ClearlySeen I don’t run the filter when I put the product in right I’m not sure what I’m doing I paid a guy to clean my pool $500 down the drain told me the last day he came I needed a bigger filter so I bought one another $700, at this point it’ll be cheaper doing it myself I have all the chemicals I’m just not sure the steps
@ClearlySeen
@ClearlySeen 2 месяца назад
Yes, whenever you’re adding any chemicals, the pool really needs to be running unless you’re putting a spray flocculent in like I did in one of my videos, and that case she would have it off other than that always keep it on

23000 gallons has sat for 7 months how much liquid chlorine and ph down do i need. Mine looks a lot like this one. It is also a salt water pool. It looks a lot like this pool
@ClearlySeen
@ClearlySeen Год назад
If your pool is above 15,000 gallons, I would use 7 1/2 gallons of liquid chlorine after you have cleaned your filter. Daily. It depends on what your pH is. If it’s very high you would want to use probably a half a bottle of muriatic acid but that’s going to depend on the size of your pool. Do you want to set your timer to not turn off if your salt is good, you can also put the pool on 100% make sure to watch the full video so you see exactly what I did

I have a 17,000 gallon pool that has sat since last July. I tried about a month ago to clear it with no luck. It now looks how it did before I tried anything. I have had a pool for a few years but have terrible luck keeping it blue all year. By July it usually turns green. Any help getting it opened this year would be appreciated!

Hi I just bought a property last year and I still havent been able to clear up my pool. I've had 2 companies come to treat it but they just keep draining my bank account with no progress in clearing up the pool. I'm not quite sure how long the pool has sat but I do know if havent been open in a few years because i recently pulled up like 3 big piles of leaves from the pool and I'm pretty sure there is still more leaves in there but it's too green to tell how much. The pool is about 40,000 gallon. I really need some help here. I very frustrated at this point and I dont know what else to do. The pool store keep trying to self there products, pool company is not much help either. Please help me.
@ClearlySeen
@ClearlySeen Год назад
So the first thing that I strongly recommend is trying to get out whatever you can out of the pool because leaves and debris are going to make this process longer they use up the chlorine. Once that is taken care of, do you want to set your pump to run around the clock without shutting off and follow the directions of my video of shocking it then cleaning the filter rinsing and repeating. Make sure that your call return jets are working good. You see a good flow of water coming back to the pool. If not, you would want to get that checked out.
@zameerkhan8935
@zameerkhan8935 Год назад
So I know the jets and stuff is working fine. When the pool company came, they shock the pool and put algaecide and they had the pool filter running 24/7. They told me to go back 4hrs and backwash the filter. When I went back I notice the pressure in the filter went up like 30psi and no flow of water on the return jets to pool. I backwash it and I would see the return jets work again. But then shortly after like 20-30 min maybe the return jets would stop flowing again. I'm assuming the filter just keeps getting clogged. What can I do to avoid this and to keep everything flowing and not get clogged up? Because its seem like i have to keep back washing like every 20-30 mins just to keep everything filtering. Is this normal? Or is there another way around this?
@ClearlySeen
@ClearlySeen Год назад
I would make sure your skimmers and pump basket are completely before you backwash it losing pressure. Seems like one of those may be clogged as well. The main drain could have a lot of debris on it. You may want to try to brush them if you have two.

Hi. My pool is really green. 13 x26 x 5 feet. How much chlorine shock do you recommend
@ClearlySeen
@ClearlySeen 2 года назад
I would put three 2 1/2 gallon jugs of liquid chlorine and if you can only get gallon jugs then 7 1/2 gallons I usually recommend higher chlorine for pools to kill the algae off quicker.

@ClearlySeen

I would make sure your pools running 24 seven brush down the sides and the bottom retreat it make sure that your stabilizer level is at least 50 ppm. And make sure your filter is clean

Why is liquid chlorine the safest for new pool owners?
@ClearlySeen
@ClearlySeen 2 года назад
The reasoning that I think it’s safer than granular chlorine is liquid chlorine is not going to damage a color plastered pool or a vinyl lined pool. If granular chlorine were to sit on the bottom of those two types of pools it can cause bleaching out of the surface which most of the times is irreversible.

I would put in about 7 gallons on day one set your pump to run nonstop brush it down and I would add the same on day two what you’re going to be looking for is the next day you want to see a very high chlorine level if it starts to dip down, you would retreat it until the algae is dead Then check out my video on how to clear a cloudy pool fast
