After staying at that site for 4 days I can now say it is a hidden gem of a site. That 'logging' road that runs out the back of it takes you to more downed trees than I've ever seen and it continues down I think into the side of GS1 at the bottom of the hill. The trail and game trails are easy to navigate and wander around at the back of the site. If you stay there and say you couldn't find enough fire wood well there would be something wrong with you IMHO! LOL! Happy camping!
I was there this weekend as well!! I though i saw your jeep when i was leaving Sunday morning during the rain. was a great weekend for some camping besides the rain Sunday morning and the muzzle loaders going off every now and then lol
Hi, I just ran across your videos of green Ridge Forest camping sites. My son and I is looking to camp at Green Ridge Forest this coming weekend for the first year. We drove to the ranger station two days ago but was closed do to covid-19. I read that each site is $10 and must put money inbox at ranger station. Is it true that if we don't want to camp at a site that we can pull any where in the woods and camp free 300 off the road? Thank you so much for taking the time to make your videos it helps me determine where about we should camp. We want bybthe water or stream 😉😁 I subscribed and looking forward to more of your content. Have fun and be safe out there.
sorry I didn't see this reply until now. No it is not true that you can pull over anywhere for free. You are supposed to go to HQ and pay for the number of days and put yourself on the clipboard for the road you are on. It used to be strictly enforced but now the clip board is more relaxed with you just saying the area you are in, compared the the exact site as before, but you still should be paying for each night if you are staying on the state forest lands.
@@DeafDalmatian thank you for your reply. My son and I already stayed there and the campsites you must pay for at the clipboard. I talked with a park ranger and he said that if we don't stay at a campground we was allowed to camp any where for free but we had to be 300 feet from the road. That is easier said then done because it's so thick with thrones and weeds it's hard to find a spot. We needed up paying for a campsite and it was a fantastic trip! We met roughly 12 people from other campsites and everyone was super friendly! We ended up getting invites to other people's campsites to sit and chat. GREAT TIMES AND MEMORIES! Thank you for taking the time to make your videos or we wouldn't of known about green Ridge. We can't wait to go agian next year
