My samsung note 9 had a full on green screen after update with problems such as the loading screen being insanely slow and frozen screen plus hot to the touch, but thankfully it managed to fix itself after leaving it alone for 10 minutes or so. I feel like the updates is trying to screw us over, forcing us to buy new phones....
Me too .. I don't remember updating anything, but started getting this issue after 5 year usage.. the funny thing is the screen is 100% ok .. when ever i get this problem i just press the lock screen and it goes black on lock and then i press it again to unlock and its fixed .. my phone is not even over heating or slow at all ..
I dropped my S8 phone, and it randomly turns green sometimes when I am just putting in my password my phone turns green and white. Do you know how I should fix it?
The only working solution that I have tried right now on my s10e is lowering the resolution to 720 using ADB. I will update if the green screen symptoms return.
Funny how this happened to my son's phone RIGHT after I installed an update. Green screen when it decides to turn on, if not it's a black screen with a thin line of light 😡, less than a year old.
@@veim00 nope. The store wanted over $200 to replace the screen. I just bought him a new phone instead. The reviews for all the screen replacement places were not the great. I'd rather spend $100 more and get a phone that will last longer....but I won't update them anymore that's for sure!
@@juliacleveland I see repairing kinda cost alot. In my case it reverted back to normal on its own. Planning to buy new one too, those green screen burns might get back anytime soon.
@@veim00 try and turn always on display . when phone is locked .. tap the screen and the n unlock it .. and see if opens up properly. if so, its a software issue.. i had this problem after the update .. it wasn't much visible in the beginning.. but after a few days it increased . Took it to he Samsung centre and they said its a hardware issue. They wont do anything .. will ask to change the whole display. Its better to buy a new phone.
Sorry to say this, but green screen issue is a hardware fault not something an update can fix. One of the updates from Samsung is causing the CPU to over heat and in return permanently damaging the oled screen. Not only that but also compromising the battery as well. The only fix is the replacement of both the oled screen and battery. This repair is entirely the fault of Samsung due to a faulty update that over works the CPU capacity. Therefore my advice is for you to return your device back to Samsung and lodge an assessment request. They charge a small fee for the assessment, but the entire repair should be compensated by Samsung. Be firm and keep the pressure via emailing them to insist on Samsung covering the repair costs. My Note 9 is almost 3 years old when green screen issue happened. They fixed the entire thing free of charge. But I kept firm and didn't let them bully me into charging me for the repairs, which was their fault in the first place. I must admit, my phone despite its age, is in perfect condition. Not a scratch on it. Which I know contributed winning my argument for the repairs. So if you have psychical damage, I doubt you will have a chance. Good luck to all who will give this successful method a go.
yeah I have seen some in the internet also saying that, overheating CPU and damaging the screen because of Samsung's own update, I thought those are just initial suspicions to why this problem happened but now I am quite sure that is in fact the case. On the repair cost thing, yeah Samsung should be the one responsible even to those consumers who may have had dents on their units, well since they are treating things like you said it, keeping daily drived phones in pristine condition really is a must. Just in general even though when inevitable accidents happen that really is a bummer. Samsung not openly admitting this too is just another problem of it's own too, sigh
How did you complain and return your phone? Did you go to a Samsung store? Or through online? They are quoting £219 for a screen repair! Absolutely disgusting seeing it’s THEIR fault for the damage!
This problem started today and its been like over a month since last update on my s8 and that last update was for the security of the device. No other update for software for over a year. Also I work in a giant freezer in a warehouse so overheating is out of the equation. Any other reason why it happened?
This problem is most likely the display because the phone overheats. My back cover on my S20 Plus peeled off on its own. I noticed the glue was tacky like gum.
My phone did the same thing a couple of days ago. The back cover has peeled off due to overheating and the screen is now green. Have you resolved your issue? If so, how did you do it?
@chocolatemilk7908That happened to my note 20 ultra. My problem was worse as it wouldn’t return to normal no matter what. When I bought it to the store I’m forced to pay 200 dollars equivalent to fix it. Ended up using my dad’s old iphone 10
I got this problem too, i have a s20 ultra, so i need to know if i boot my phone will my data get erased? My photos, apps, messages and otherdata? Please help me
had this problem a while back and it seemed to have fixed itself, however after the latest update today the issue returned. Im using an Oppo Find X2 Pro.
put brightness to max.. try and turn always on display on settings. . lock the phone .. tap the screen and the n unlock it .. and see if opens up properly. if so, its a software issue.. i had this problem after the update .. it wasn't much visible in the beginning.. but after a few days it increased . Took it to he Samsung centre and they said its a hardware issue. They wont do anything .. will ask to change the whole display. Its better to buy a new phone.
my s20 had this issue, then i put it away. when i plugged it in, it fixed itself. took two years, tho. i believe it may be a power issue, as it worked when it died.
mine, everytime e force reboot for almost 20x, still didnt work. last resort i went to Samsung repair center and the technician reco to replace my amoled lcd on my S20Ultra5G w/ charges $300? 😭😭😭
I have two s9's and both are doing this it seems cycling the power button is the trigger; and a recent update made my display issue worse the screen would not come on for about ten minutes after the update it scared me good! :/
Similar issue with my Note FE but the screen shows nothing even after several force shutdown/restart. Any clue? I have no no access to my screen due to this issue from the start
Yoir issue seems severe. I Would try booting into Android recovery and see if the display shows. If it does ot might be a software problem. You have options in that case.
My Samsung galaxy S8 had this problem and it would not open and kept on glitching when I tried to open, it would also be worse if I turned the brightness down but the workshop dude told my mom that it's battery is done and its original one is very expensive.
My note 10 plus goes half green screen and occasionally flickers to only when I'm in my hot car and using GPS. When I'm home in the air conditioning everything is fine. Very strange.
my s8 plus has display panel issue - it got littke break from edges - now display hardly comes but it works some time when i go under sun light - sun light rays often make display active and it only works for some time than again go black .what to do ?
Mine started doing that 3 months ago and fixed itself. I was glad but since december it's been doing it again and now I can't even see anything. I did the hard reboot but since I can't see anything it's impossible to unlock it therefore I can't access my storage. Thankfully the most important stuff was on my sd card but there is still a few things I'd like to retrieve. Does anyone can help me ?
Varies-can happen if you drop your phone, can happen randomly over time especially of your device has not been updated in a long while, has never been reset and you have been using in for years.
When try major update on powerfull chipset phone like samsung flagship phone from ota make sure to put a fan blowing on it, it makes phone really hot can cause weak oled panel to broken aslo battery. Safest way is download and flashing via odin to upgrade but at cost secure folder samsung pay etc stop working and probably void your warranty.
@@itspludo6411 it turned on for one day but would sometimes randomly flash but after that day it just went back to the black screen with a green flash when i would usually get notifications or something
@@yztay_ that happend to my phone aswell. i don't think you can fix it at home. mine is still black since the 16 th of december it was huawai but the same problem. then i got samsung s8 2 days later and today not even one month later the green screen is white and kinda flashing i can't do anything and i don't know what to do
another method SQUEEZE THE SCREEN IN ABOVE THE USB PORT. ITS A LOOSE RIBBON CABLE INSIDE!!! Press against the screen hard with your thumbs at the very bottom .25 inches of the screen
I will never purchase Samsung again, I bought my S20ultra at rate of $1099 and sold it less than $200 cos the bad screen after I tried my all possible to get it fixed, I regretted purchased I backed to iPhone 7 cos I can’t afford much again
Told you its happened latested software update this month December 2021 sorted it and done you out of a job unfortunately reset everything you lost me there and probably alot of punters now.
wow.... I came here because my iPhone 13 turn greenscreen... It happend after new ios update... soooo, It also happend to me when I used S20 before.. lol... Im stuck right now..

My Samsung s10plus has the same problem I haven't even last a week with it it has a similar problem I'm trying the volume down and power and nothing is happening plzz help
Yeh real common -you will have to try the tips until the display gives you something. Did you try reducing brightness and turning on always on display.
@@rickytlc1985 I have tried reducing and increasing the brightness and nothing has happened , I can't access the settings because of the password and I can't see anything, all just keep on trying If I goo to Samsung technicians will I be able to be helped
