Green Spotted Puffer Tank Setup! (Brackish Water) 

Just wanted to mention that these green spotted puffers eventually do need a bigger tank, we know that, & we’ll upgrade the tank when the puffer out grows this one. But for now, this 10g is just fine

Hello, I just cycled a 36 gallon tank I got on a black Friday special. Can you post an update video on how the puffer is doing? Also what PH level is the water at? My local fish store said 8.2.

Mine is at 1.008 in a 40, how much salt should I add to bring it up a bit more? I have a leopard puffer fish and they told me he was low brackish but now I’m nervous it’s low?

Agree with the posts saying you need a bigger tank. ALSO, you should NEVER net a puffer bc if pulled out of the water it could stress them to the point of them puffing up and if the puff up with air there is a good chance it will die. I was getting worried with for the poor little guy with how long you held him out of the tank and he even looked a little puffed up when you finally dropped him in

You should totally get a pink belly 👌🏻 they’re a pretty rare turtle. A puffer fish is a nice flex though!

I’ve got three Green spotted Puffers they range from 1-1/4” to 2-1/4” and I have them in a 20 long . They need that kind of area to swim in. I’ll eventually get a 30 or 33 long. Get marine salt . One cup of salt to four gallons of water.

You should optimize your hang on back filters. They will be more efficient that way. Also, puffers shouldn't be fed for a day or two when you first put them in the aquarium.

Just a tip next time you transport a puffer don’t expose him to air as if he puffs up air is much harder than water to push back out so there’s a high chance they can die from this.

Aime for 0.008 salinity. remember puffers generally are brackish or full salt water and can survive full fresh water. Twice a day their water changes from mostly salt to mostly fresh. skightly less salty is better for fish and live plants.
