amen the quality and vibe music at popping events has steadily declined over the years to the level where most of it is straight up shit and only caters to dancers who learned the beats. popping loops are like cancer to this culture along with the sort of dancing it breeds.

I don't know if it was exactly that, I think that more than that he was enjoying the tournament and I think it is because in the tournament they had a lot of level poper and he being so competitive he likes this type of tournaments with level poper what he does which focuses more ... since I have seen it in several other tournaments where there is not much level and as it gets bored and just wants to finish them fast because he knows he will win them without trying too hard.

Good observation. When Greenteck is in a good mood he's more creative and Kite struggles with songs where the tempo is a bit slower.

Marcos Gimenez someone didn’t know greenteck’s skill level would underestimate him I assume, and thought a good round was choreographed, which means the imaginary one assume rounds is too good to be freestyled, which somehow implies choreography is better freestyle. Seems pretty intuitive to me. Maybe that’s not what u want to say but it’s logically expressing this meaning

i agree . different person have diffrent express and understanding to music ,the match's result due to too much things ,judges feeling,ownness and so on .win or loss is normal to a dancer .

i agree that green did great in this event but it's unfair to say that hoan's musicality doesn't 'connect' with the music, that's a really subjective idea and I think they both vibe with the music in their own way. I guess green's groove is more obvious but when I watch hoan I can see him flowing to the beat in his own way as well.

And if you can't see the brilliance in his style right now, you don't know popping. I guarantee if you ask all the top guys in the game who is on top right now, most will say greenteck. When he also won team battle here, and last year. He wins most shows he's in too. But beyond wins and losses, he has changed the popping scene, and is still improving daily. A poppers popper. Again, why do you think he travels the world to teach this dance, is beloved in the scene, and wins most battles?

Hoan/Jaygee, won with Babylon vs Nelson and gucchon at this event last year, won it again this year with Nelson, won the cypher battle in Vietnam where he also beat hozin 1-1 in the Finals, and on and on and on. He only two losses I know of in that time frame of the past 2 year or so are c-pop which was iffy, and slim boogie which he should've won too imo. That's it. I'll wait for your rebuttal. There's mine. You asked and I gave to you. Let's not forget all his judge showcases too, but I doubt you watched the brilliance of all of them.

Yep! Especially for someone who's been in the game for as long as Kite has. No excuses at this point. And if someone happens to be an otherwise incredible popper but is limited to only, let's say, r & b, why are you participating in an event where the likelihood of the DJ playing something other than r & b (possibly not even playing ANY r & b) is considerably high? Just as a variety of different areas are being judged (ex. transitions, cleanliness of hits, originality, musicality), so too is the ability to adjust to the music. I really dig Kite - definitely one of my favorite dancers and definitely one of the best in the game - but the 'fault' isn't on the DJ; no, it's on Kite's ability (or inability?) to adjust accordingly to the music. His weak spot has been revealed. The burden is on him (as it is on all other poppers) to be prepared for whatever the DJ plays, not for the DJ to say "ah, Kite's up - guess I have to play the instrumental version of Michael Jackson - Heartbreaker three times in a row now..."

kite has amazing foot works and he is olso the best on down floor but the beat has no drops and chils to do that, so he has lot of styles but there is no music to show it. you are right !!!

@@Adrian101882 This Is late but I pove your comment. I'm not a dancer. Just a spectator. Can this be applied to most genres? I see a lot of comments that say the DJ or the music suck. But shouldn't dancers be prepared for different types or tempos of music? I'm asking, because I watched Just Debout House competition 2019. They had a South African DJ and obviously he played South African genres of house. Man people were crying, calling it the biggest rubbish yet there comes Tony Rae and Caleaf and they danced to it. I'm no expert on music or beats so I don't know what they're used to, but I just found it strange that dancers would complain so much about the music. Aren't they suppossed to be able to adapt their style to the music?
