At 7:09 p.m., Newtown Fire was dispatched to a reported fully involved and Structure Fire on Greenleaf Farms Rd. FD-201 was the first on scene confirming the working fire, finding a 2 and a half story 4,800 square foot residential with heavy fire throughout the roof. Crews attempted to conduct an offensive attack, but due to the large quantity of fire as well as a roof collapse, crews transferred to a defensive attack. Crews also had a water supply challenge due to no hydrants in the area. Crews worked to draft water out of a nearby pond and called numerous tankers from various agencies. The fire was placed under control after several hours, and Crews transferred into aggressive overhaul operations. There were no injuries reported. The Newtown Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.
