I really love the amazing sound of the lute. Simply beautiful.

I volunteer in a reformatory here in Taiwan. I happened to mention the lute, and none of the inmates knew about this instrument. With Luthval's permission, I copied this beautiful video and played it for them. They were not familiar with the tune, but song and Luthval's artistry reached them, and added some beauty to their lives. Thank you very much, from me and from all the inmates.

I had the same feeling when I was 12... I start playing guitar, waiting to get a lute. Then, a few years later I get one... Just be patient and believe your dream will become true one day... and make everything you can for it becomes... I play violin and very like baroque and rainessance, and greensleeves is one of my favorite pieces. And this is the greatest preformence I ever heard. Just Great!!! and if I'm wrong, it's because my English is... terrible.

In the mid 60s I was into folk music and scratched a little guitar, in these years I first heard this tune and bought an LP with the lute version which got lost over the years but the tune remained.and never left me. Lately I bought a CD I was so happy I didn't check it and found out it was voice only. I gave it away and went back to the shop and clearly stated what I wanted, they ordered it and I got the version by Pink Floyd rendered by Francis cutting. Can't people respect the original partition ?

i've been looking all over youtube for a version of greensleeves on lute like this, but all the other ones were just too amateur or a bit "too happy", that said: GREAT JOB! I love this version!

I love how you combined the two different versions of the song. I never heard the Cutting version before, so that makes it especially great to hear. (I'm a big fan of variations on a theme, in probably all forms of art.) I actually hope to learn to play the lute someday myself; I told my wife lessons would be a good Christmas gift...

You have done a beautiful job with Greensleeves. I have been listening to classical lute since I discovered Julian Bream in college long ago and consider it to be among the highest forms of music. Heavenly sounds that sooth the soul and bring lovely images to the mind. Thank you !

Lutes without frets are arabic lutes for oriental music, this is renaissance lute and had frets like guitars ;-) Val
