Great segment Htguys!! Greg put together one Fantastic lounge area/cinema room! That buffet of awesome gear is very tasty indeed (those Ariel Acoustic speakers are phenomenal/big fan of that brand). Digging the room decor, the two rows of comfy seating, and the cool color tones. I could lose tracks of time in there😁 Job well done Greg👏👏👏👏 Enjoy♾
Just found this channel , subscribe right away, the right channel of Home Theater I was looking for , you don't need to spend thousand and thousands of dollars to have the right Dolby Atmos set up , congratulation for your channel
Yeah you know you have a wicked set up Greg! As far as overdamping and big sloppy subwoofers go, I totally agree with you. Besides its only the smaller driving subwoofers that's able to keep up for the two channel! Never heard of your stereo speakers but they certainly look the business. Considering you have the ability to turn the Atmos channel off,, I've got a question for you... when listening to non Dolby Atmos content (5.1 / 2-ch) do you turn the Atmos power amp off Thanks for the tour and thanks for listing your equipment. It's been a joy to go through! Even though you forgot the list your cables. The weakest link perhaps 😄
@@totalplonker824 I do turn off the other amps when listening in stereo. Interconnects are Audioquest, speaker cables are MIT shotgun. There are plenty of reviews for my Aerial Acoustics 7T’s if you are interested.
@@gregbartley2475 yeah when listening to 2 channel decoded movies I also have my height channels off. Most people haven't got the option to turn their height channels off so unfortunately they're going to be hearing in the same signal coming up their heights, that's actually been mastered for 2-ch speakers. This is a fatal flaw with Atmos, not that most people are aware of it! It's actually part of the reason why I purchased an external Poweramp for my Atmos channels. I think the best one can do when watching 2 channel decoded movie without external amplification... configuration settings, front presence. Even though they'll turn off surround speakers, at least one will be able to hear the sound stage the way it was supposed to be heard! Nice cables btw I have to say this is one of the best setups I've seen so far on HT tours, it's just a beautifully balanced setup with attention to detail. Good job Greg 👍
Greg this video is awesome man. And thanks for the mentions. By the way I have gotten rid of some of my acoustic panels. Lol. But for those that can only imagine how it sounds I can tell you his room sounds incredible. Those Aerial speakers are the real deal. And the video here is well done.
Thanks Ron, I’ve definitely gotten some inspiration from you and your determination to get the best sound in your space as possible. Every time I think you have it nailed you up your game
I am curious if it is a generational thing when it comes to music listening. My 2 channel listening is done with bookshelfs in my office, but is usually when I am working. I find it very odd that someone would spend 65% of their time in their dedicated room just listening to music. with any of my free time for media consumption I want to watch movies or tv series. I guess the idea of just sitting in a dedicated room and listening to music seems kinda boring.
I’m sure it seems odd or boring as you put it, to most people it probably is. There are some of us (I know other people like me) who enjoy just listening to music on a good system with no distractions. I refer to it as my decompression chamber. I also listen in the car, while exercising, vacuuming etc. it’s just a different experience in this room
@@gregbartley2475 I was touring a house awhile back and a guy had a dedicated 2 channel room. I just was like how much time to people really spend just listening to music. That's great you enjoy it. Theater and Basement are cool. Thanks for doing the tour so we can see great setups. I prefer the setups that arent just cranked out by professionals.
It probably is a generational thing. I used to visit stereo shops and listen to systems. There aren’t many of those around anymore. Plus my dad was a big music listener
@@gregbartley2475 My father is 75 and was a huge music listener. When he was in the airforce they would go to system on base and listen to reel to reel recorders to listen to music on Quadraphonic sound
