I love watching home theater reviews and when I saw the length of the video I was turned off. After I found myself 17 min into the video I realized I loved the original format of the presentation. Liked and subscribed.
It was a pleasure calibrating your room, Robert! The "room within a room" basically eliminates all of the external noise from life out side. It keeps the noise floor very low. Contrary to what most believe, the limitation on dynamics in a room is rarely how loud the speakers can play, but almost always how *quiet* the room can get. I'm absolutely jealous of that setup you have compared to my own room 🙂
Excellent work. Only one thing to consider. You want to isolate the couch from its environment. you want to place some rubber pucks on the feet to isolate it from the environment. That way you’re not losing your vibration energy to your floor it should increase the feeling and quality.
Looks great. Do you know which Baltic Birch plywood or solid wood is better in terms of acoustic properties? I dont know why they offer Baltic Birch Flatpacks for the 1TD-X but not for the 2TD-X. Also, could rounding the edges on the front cause the sound different? We have birch plywood and different solid wood options in our country, I want to use best option i found.
Thanks! The volume was selected to try and achieve a specific bass response. I kept the height at 12 inches but had to widen the width and increase the depth. I still compromised a little response because I did not achieve the optimal volume for these components. But man it still sounds awesome with a great bass punch!

Wharfedale UK announced thier intention to produce 2 😢Way and 3Way speaker driver kits and templates for BYO cabinets for DIY speaker builders. Also how come you don’t use No Res like Danny at GR Research. Anyway love the speakers
Very cool about the Wharfedale. I may take a look at one of the kits. As far as No Res goes, I'm $210 into the complete build. I can't see that spending at least $150 more in dampening material will dramatically improve the sound.

Thank you for this video .I'm also doing the Torii P2 Tower and was having trouble with the crossover and how it all connected to the one terminal but now I see you literally just connected the two crossovers at the end. Sweet thanks.
Thanks for this. Just built one to use with my Echo/Alexa enabled smart plugs. Simply say "Alexa, turn on siren" at or away from home, and it gets annoyingly loud at my house. Love it.
Ara those look and sound awesome. When’s the give away scheduled? Who needs to go back to work when you can build speakers 😂. You should put a small plate on the back of the speakers with the history of the wood used on the build. “Built from reclaimed barn wood 1895”
