@@filmslate I had an account called "Khorma" which I lost access to, so I made "i am Khorma, now have fun pronouncing Khorma 🤣, no worried though, the reaction was great.
By the way, Chris Eubanks was an absolutely terrifying and brilliant boxer in his heyday. He also knows how to work the camera. There’s a video of him after knocking out an opponent where he’s walking around the ring, after being declared the winner. He poses with this crazy look, and the boxer still on the mat in the background being tended to by medical staff.
I would say that arguably it is a very good impression. It's not a good impersonation, but they're not the same thing. As soon as Greg starts doing it, you know exactly who it is supposed to be and that is the purpose of an impression. The fact that he makes it so entertaining as well is a great bonus!
For sure. There are many people who do amazing Christopher Walken impressions for example, but very few people who can pull off an impersonation. It's comparable to a caricature portrait, where you exaggerate the most notable traits to get people to make an instant connection.
Fair play to Chris Eubank for this. It could have gone one of two ways. I was going to say that he took it on the chin ... but then again, he really could have. He had one of the hardest chins in boxing history.
You boys definitely need to hunt out the full length vids of Sean's Countdown Casserole and his Countdown Cocktail. Just for the full ingredients lists and everyone's reaction alone.
I'm glad this clip got the return of Greg's impressions. But also the Whelks bit is always funny. Just a shame they didn't show all of that section. Incidentally, the player on Sean's team during the whelks is Miles Jupp who always seems to to really play well off of Sean's jokes. They are like the best double act that never was
Greg wasn't entirely acting when he dived under the desk. Chris Ewbank's persona here is the exact opposite of what he was in the ring, where he was an absolute monster. He was undefeated for ten years and held world titles at Middleweight and Super Middleweight.
I understand that you would feel that Greg Davies is confident. Rhod Gilbert recently made a programme about how crushing shyness has affected his life and he had Greg Davies on as he is extremely shy.
Glad to see you guys react to this video! I commented it a while ago, Greg's impression is an all-time favourite of mine. Also Greg "Davies" is pronounced the same here as you guys say it, the British have a bit of a tendency to shorten/skip sounds when speaking. Great content as always guys
Chris is pretty eccentric and a genuinely nice guy. He went through a stage where he dressed as an English squire with tweed and riding boots and I think he even wore a monocle. He also drove around in a massive American semi truck unit. A true character. ✌️❤️🇬🇧
Factoid: from Chris Eubank's 45 victories, 23 were knockouts or technical knockouts (the referee decides a boxer can't safely continue, or they've been knocked down three times within a round).
I really like British whelks. You showed a picture of (I think?) an American Florida whelk, which is long and curly, looking like a striped snake; which is nothing like, say, Scottish or Welsh caught ones. They are sold fresh, tinned or in glass jars (usually pickled or in brine). Supermarkets, fishmongers and delicatessens sell them throughout the UK, along with cockles, muscles, winkles and baby clams (which make the popular Italian dish 'Spaghetti Alle Vongole'). In Spain and Portugal, they have them 'all' in many traditional seafood dishes or in the famous 'Paella' - Yum! Yum!
I just love that Chris showed up and was such a great sport about it. :) And I do agree, I feel like particularly the countdown compilations will have a lot of other things included for some reason that aren't related to the main topic.
Eubank is really eccentric and bit different but he is a icon in the uk, and one of greatest and vicious boxers of all time, and he never took people mimicking or teasing him thst seriously
Chris is a great guy, he was an incredible boxer and was renowned for winning fights extremely quickly with explosive power for his size. I remember him knocking some Brazilian guy out in about 4 seconds. He’s always been very eccentric, well mannered & extremely well educated and polite. But he always dresses very formally & speaks very eloquently, which is pretty odd for a boxer because they’re usually absolute meat head caveman types. There’s also videos of him on here of him being reunited with a former opponent who he gave brain damage too which is one of the most moving videos I’ve ever seen. Chris can be regularly spotted in and around Windsor driving his fleet of Bentley’s or his actual street legal tank.
Hey guys. I just want to go back to a very kind reply you gave me in a previous video regarding my cat, Woodchipper. "I hope you and Chips have many happy years together" (I can't remember exactly what you said, but it was along those lines.) Unfortunately, I was contacted by the vets yesterday. They told me he was brought in by someone and that he had been hit by a car and died. We buried him yesterday. Needless to say I'm lost, empty and bitter. But thanks again for the comment. Keep making these videos, please. They help. RIP Woodchipper. Young Legend.
Oh Ajax, I am so sorry mate! I remember writing that only a week or so ago.. : ( They chose you as their owner. Time will heal all wounds, but for sure it will hurt for quite a while. I know its' too early, but maybe rescuing another cat somewhere down the line may help slightly fill the void and can bring some positivity to such a horrible situation? All the best mate. If these videos are helping then I will for sure keep them coming! Any particular comedians you enjoy the most?
@@filmslate You're so kind, thank you. I mean that. Maybe instead of a comedian request, could I ask if in your next reaction, could you give Woodchipper a shout out at the end? I dunno, it would just be awesome for me. I won't be offended if you don't. His life was so short. Just a thought. I wish you both all the best, too.
Chris reminds me of a more sophisticated Mike Tyson. He also has a unusual voice that you wouldn’t expect out of a dominant testosterone powerhouse of a boxer.
Nice one lads👌I think you did that reaction perfectly by listening to Eubank first before the clip for context. Former wold middleweight and super middleweight world champion Eubank was a real handful in the 90s, good job he took it on the chin and not Greg🤣not sure if he prefers Davis or Davies but I had a teacher called miss Davies and if you called her miss Davis she'd go berserk. Great stuff as always fellas✌️🍻
Thanks Martin! Appreciate the insights :D he seems like he has such a calm demeanour that didn't really fit with how frightened Greg was... makes sense now if he used to be known as a bit of a loose unit. Cheers buddy.
I've always pronounced Davies as it's spelt but I believe the Welsh pronunciation is Davis... and Greg doesn't have a Welsh accent but he was born in Wales.
@@kmjkmjkmj I can call him bob if I want mate😂 and bob is a good example because in certain places like the USA someone called Bob would pronounce their name Bahb whereas I would call them Bohb! That's my accent and it doesn't change for someone's name.
The compilations are really just the RU-vid channel of the TV channel (in this case Channel 4) churning out click bait from the series just to get views and subscribers. They mix the content up and give it different titles but it's really just the same clips people have already seen.
Isn't this all about pronunciation? Because his name is spelt Davies, but is always pronounced as Davis.. We have plenty of Davis and Davies here in Australia.. Greg Davies is the only time I've seen anyone pronounce that name as "Davis".
@@filmslate Saying "Davies" as 'Davis' is nothing more than incompetent pronunciation. The trouble is that people who can't pronounce properly take the high ground and start to think their way is the correct way and start incorrectly and incompetently 'educating' people.
I personally can't stand Chris Eubank. He always struck me as a pompous prat. That being said, Michael Watson almost died fighting him, plus he accidentally killed a builder whilst driving, so I hope he doesn't read this.
Watson and family don't blame Chris tho, it was the British boxing association were at fault for not having things like oxygen among other things which would of helped so much and he sued and won millions
