Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

Hello Greg, Sorry, Missed the primers by just 12 minutes.... but watching the full episode now. Just one request: Please do a bit more of edible greens foraging and make it an integral part of your 30 day survival videos, even involving this one, possible in the very next episodes like day 15 and ahead....... I am specifically requesting this because of two main reasons: 1) I know, you are kind of proficient in it(have seen it during your 30 day survival challenge with Zack fowler). The ones you are currently doing is mostly making teas out of edible greens. But I wish to see and learn a bit more of actual greens consumption.(may be you could also harvest some of the sea weeds that are there among the rocks in that secret fishing cove that you guys have been fishing from the last few days. Also on the hike trail. You guys have already harvested some mushrooms. 2)you seem kind of upset and disheartened that you are not bringing much to the table. This way, you could show your proficiency on your knowledge of the wild edibles and also bring food to the table. And you would also feel contributing to the entire adventure as well as bring variety to the table and a change of taste. Also ensuring good amount of vitamin supply to make up for some of the nutritional deficiency that happen during long term survival I won't take any more space...this comment has become too big already Thank you

As a retiree, a coastal BC outdoorsman, a fly-fisherman, an ex-scuba diver...etc., etc., and I just laugh at you interior guys who come on down to the coast, no raincoats, truckin' through 'rain forest' regions that the weather can turn on a dime into a storm at the drop of a hat, and here you are, getting slammed by ocean waves and drenched like a rag in the rain, too funny! 🤣

Despite the setback with the kayak plan and the stolen fish, I think this video was a turning point. Fish trap, fire, and progress on a bow. Recharged batts etc. I'm looking forward to seeing if you guys venture to a new spot as well. P.s I'm in Rutland VT, Zach's hometown. Would love to meet you guys if you do another adventure here on the East Coast!

Seeing your spirits get lifted when you could make a fire was great to see! I know it's been a tough journey this go around but don't put yourself down. You contribute in other ways no matter if your fishing luck was down you could contribute in other ways that are valuable too. I hope you find the joy in what you do again on this trip and stop putting yourself down. You are amazing in what you do and no matter what the true fans are here every step of the way Even bad or off days matter and it was good to see your spirit lifted when you were back in your element with the fire. Good season Greg thanks for all the hard work you put in to entertain and educate us. for this type of fishing, your best gear option would be one of tthose long spinning rods people use on the east coast for catching stripers from the beach. You could cast your lures way further out, and cover much more water. I think thats the reason Amos is catching fish. His Lures reach out to the striking zones, which are a bit further out.

Texas desert =we have very little green or water.mostly lizards..a few varieties of snakes. Horny toad lizards A few tarantulas Coyote..deer...not much birds... Love the content, but the hardest part is suggestions are of no use now since the challenge is already done. I was hoping while in town you both would google earth the terrain to locate that mystery lake, so maybe future episodes will reveal the discovery. One thing I've been wondering is why the campsite wasn't immediately relocated to the river inlet so those long hikes were avoided... can't imagine the energy drain but you both seem in good spirits so far. GREAT JOB!

Ya , I was thinking the same thing. Greg is notorious for doing things "a little awkward " and being completely under dressed and ill prepared, it maybe alot of times that's what a real survival situation would be. ..still always leaves me scratching my head.

@@sosintheselastdayz7448 Maybe the campsite wasn't moved because lugging that huge battery box and gear was too much work on low calories. Not sure how this challenge would have went if Amos wasn't there because young energy and stamina is critical on a long survival challenge. Greg is tough for his age though!
