Greg and Finn head to a remote lake to enjoy the great outdoors for 4 days, catching and cooking wild rainbow trout. They bring their last fish home and smoke it using Greg's favorite candied honey-glazed smoked fish recipe and the results are MOUTHWATERING!
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

Got myself some new rods yesterday,, 4 for only 65 cents. These are advanced, they got a striker wheel and a fuse and fuel all like a candle all rolled into one. great new invention they call in a lighter. I think zippo wood be a cooler name doh!

Greg's pup's full name is; 'Findlay'...and named after; 'Findlay Creek'...an area in the East Kootenay region here in British Columbia where Greg has spent much of his life in our Province.

Oh man! The respect I have for this man grows with every episode. The fact that he maintains his decency even in situations where it would be understandable to do the opposite is absolutely admirable and shows what a great man he truly is. And you shouldn't even put your self in situations were you absolutely are dependent on hunting/gathering for food if you are that uncomfortable with hunger. When you go outdoors you have to be comfortable with whatever mother nature throws your way. Those who don't wish to preserve nature are the real harden criminals not those who seek to protect it!

What I like about Greg is he keeps it simple and is just himself ..absolutely refreshing. I just think your love for the outdoors rubs off on people . Take care of you and Finn and I hope to watch more soon..I made it out last week on my own adventure picking a few morels and ended up on the Douglas Lake Road , Westwold side..it was beautiful ...spent quite a few hours in the woods , me and my dog and never saw another human , just birds and deer ..anyhow take care Greg and Ts for being honest and kind ..

... Hey Greg ,, maybe get a pair of the solid rubber wheelbarrow tires ,, never have to deal with a flat again ... but would be a good idea to have a 12v air compressor and leave in the truck ... ... You could get fold down tire / bracket assembly for small boats ,, just bolts to the back of the transom ,, flips down for wheel use ,, flip up when on water ,,stays mounted on boat ... .... Finn has grown into a beautiful awesome dog .... Best outdoor teammate ever ... His bringing in the firewood really made me grin ... It's fun to see Shephard's carrying limbs ,, it seems to be they have to bring the entire tree ... next time will have to rig up a "Finn Hammock" ... ... I totally AGREE ,, fresh caught fish with slices of lemon with desired seasonings ....can just take along one of those plastic lemon juice thingy's .....OH YEAH !! .. even just lemon / pepper seasoning is good and easy to leave in cook kit ... Thanks for the smoked fish recipe ...
