Durk Banks right Rodgers has never been associated with cheating. it is disrespectful to compare him to Brady. plus his woman doesn't resemble an anorexic horse
Nick dominic Tom never cheated deflate gate was literally made up and never happened and he had nothing to do with spy gate thats on the coaching staff
Elias Johnson Nah it aint on the coaching staff only because the whole team benefit from spy gate and there is no way deflate gate was completely made up.
He is right, but I still don't like that Skip doesn't acknowledge how good Aaron once was. It was absolutely justifiable to call him "the best ever" based on his stats and how he was playing up until a year ago. He was ridiculous. Clearly, he hasn't been the same player this year or last year
KAT I love Rodgers and definitely admire and acknowledge his greatness but I think even with the amazing stats he was having, it was somewhat disrespectful to the REAL G.O.A.T.S like Tom Brady and Joe Montana to call him the greatest ever.
You mean the guy who said he loved going against white guys in the NFL because they're not as athletic? Great analyst, but Sharpe is a certified racist.
lol I love how you take such a small, accurate comment by Shannon and call him a racist. I sure there's scientific proof that on average African-American males are better athletes than Euro-American males.
So we just gone ignore the ASTRONOMICAL numbers Drew Brees is putting up?? Everything is about Brady, Rodgers, Big Ben, and Cam. Like come on man, give Drew his shine. Yeah the Saints still have defensive holes, but Drew is putting up 30 a game and everyone over looks that.
Blake Patterson Well people aren't talking about Cam too much. They are talking about the other 3. Rodgers and Ben definitely haven't played as well as Brees this year. Tom has done probably as well, yet he just came back.
Mike zimmer coach of the year so far. And I'm a pats fan. Just being honest. And fellow pats we gt shutout by the bills can't take up for Belichick on that one.
Jonny Doe 3rd string? Pats fans and Brady celebrated beating Clevelands 5th string qb like they won the superbowl. Want to see reactions or do you remember that? Pats fans gotta make excuses. Week 3 Bill was God, he shutout the Texans, kept Hopkins in check and Miller was useless 27-0, week 4 oh well Brady wasn't there, week 5 we beat the winless browns and the fifth qb for them this year, we are going to the bowl. can't talk out of both sides of your mouth but steadily discredit everyone else. Bradys whole career in the AFC East is about beating second and third string qbs, suddenly that's changed?? He played Manning 1 in the AFC east, there has never been another threat. No one was saying oh look, Brady beat Jeff Tuel, Kelly Holcomb, Kellen Moore, Chad Henne, Thad Lewis............ no one takes credit from him, you play to win period.
He actually had time in the pocket yesterday, and wrs were actually open, but Rodgers was missing just about everything. I've never seen him play like that.
MisterJonesification lol bro when they played the Giants, I swear the offensive line looked like the best O-line in NFL history. Like they made it so easy for Rodgers.
I gotta disagree with Shannon sharpe arguments in this one. 1. Greg Jennings was not even close to the same player when he left Green Bay. 2. Rodgers had just as much success, if not more, with his current receivers(Cobb, Nelson) than his past duo.
I've said it for years, I thought maybe rogers could be the outlier...you cannot be an all time great QB if you cant stand in the pocket. It's that simple. You can have a great run...string together 7-8 years of dominance even. But when you get out of the pocket...you get hit. Rogers has been hit a lot, rogers has had nagging injuries a lot, rogers has missed games throughout his career. People like to marvel at physical gifts...but it is the mental gifts that aren't sexy, that we don't see, that really make All time QB's great. Brady and Manning stayed in the pocket their whole careers...they didn't miss a lot of games (each with odd injuries that forced them out one season). When the younger generation starts talking about guys like Rogers and Cam...I shake my head. As amazing as they are QB is about pocket passing. It always will be. The rest is not sustainable. Never will be for more than a few years.
that's a good point about you(Joseph)specifying Aaron has been taken hits a lot throughout his career. I'm going to defend Aaron on this one. Getting hit alot, from my perspective will take its toll on you. Bottom line, Coaching needs to find a way to protect Rodgers, and Rodgers needs to be more conscious about the hits.
Bobbesee Brett Favre never missed a start. He was / is the iron man. Aaron Rodgers is not that. He is prone to missing time. Not sure what insecurity I'd have about football players...You have to separate your emotions from your evaluations. Qb's outside the pocket are far more likely to sustain injury. You'll notice when guys like Brady and Manning got out of the pocket they check over their shoulders for trailing defenders before they throw. This is because they are protecting themselves from a big hit. If someone is trailing they don't absorb that hit...they dump it off or throw it away. That's how you survive in the league.
what Sharpe point was what his excuse now. he has to responsibility and not passing the blame. Those wrs he "had" took him to a Superbowl. Not the ones he has now
Johnchi02 The point that jennings and driver made him good.Yes he was mvp in 2011 and 6 great weapons.Whats missing in that is the guys on the team now were the guys apart of his 2014 team so the weapons have very little to do with.Driver in 2010 and 2011 wasnt a top target. He was the 5th wr in 2011.Finley had the drops and was good but again Rodgers was mvp without him as well, including no Jennings.
Johnchi02 I never took the blame away from or the wrs.I think the wrs have very little to do with it.He has 7 wrs and 3 functional TEs now and would take these guys over the 2011 team.
Aaron Rogers vs Brett Favre is really not much difference in skill level...Eli Manning led the Giants past them both with ease at Lambeaux Field. What a joke of a discussion!
Nuff Said Who was the Vikings QB though? Ponder? which isn't even playing in the NFL, if i remember correctly. When Ponder wasn't playing he played pretty well. And when he went to the Dolphins he was old. Jennings was a quick and shifty receiver and when he lost that ability to move like that well....
packers still have weapons in the arsenal..rodgers..cobb ..nelson..starks..lacy..those 5 players alone are all playmakers and can make a lot happen. I agree with JENNINGS on rodgers playing better out of the pocket..he plays totally different when under pressure and outta the pocket.
I get what Greg was saying about Rodgers never having to take responsibility for the team's failures, and the (arguably) less talented receiving core, but that's really not the issue. The fact of the matter is, Aaron Rodgers has never been this bad before
I agree. He's missing some throws badly. I'm not a Packers fan but I'm not a Packers hater either. Rodgers has never had a great receiving corp so that is not where the blame lies. If you want to put on the championship belt when you do well then you have to accept the criticism when you don't perform. Just ask Cam Newton.
bruinsfan022 They aren't Lynn Swann and John Stallworth, or Jerry Rice and John Taylor though are they? That's my point. I'm not saying they aren't good receivers. I'm saying they aren't great. I'm a Chiefs fan. Yeah I'd trade Albert Wilson for either of them but I wouldn't trade Jeremy Maclin.
I feel like I'm watching a Shannon Sharpe from a different universe. I just watched a video where he was saying Aaron was the best quarterback ever and ignoring all of his faults. In this video though Shannon is actually being unbiased and truthful. I can't recall seeing this Shannon before. When did his opinion suddenly change so much?
All I remember was hearing aaron Rodgers has the best receiving core in the league when jennings, jones, driver were there.. and what did jennings do without Rodgers?..
Jennings only played one year with Farvre. He played the majority of his years with Rodgers and had his two most successful years during that time span (2 pro bowls and a superbowl).
The arm hasn't been the same since 2008-10 and he has the more pressure than most QB's in the league but if he keep playing like this the packers are going 6-10 or 7-9.
Have you watched the last few games. His o line has been blocking pretty well. Rodgers holds onto the ball for eternity. He's playing bad football. End of story.
I don't know about that man, he was pretty spectacular in 2014, his arm was still amazing then. It's just amazing how much he has fallen from there in 2015 and now 2016. I agree, if he can't find his form the Packers are in serious trouble.
Vamoslosmillos100 His Arm during 2008-10 was the greatest Arm I ever seen.Yea his arm was amazing in 2014 but his deep ball didn't have much air on it like it did the previous years.
another 50 td season, 6th 4000 yard season. Led the team in rushing at one point during the season. He is in the top for rushing td's by a qb this year. smh people quick to hate all the time, success is success no one really cares about feelings when you're winning
except no one talks about how bad the defense plays in the losses but ya 400+ yards givin up and you think they should win and its all AR fault? watch the games b4 trolling on the internet anyways have a good day
Path Exile it's not all Aaron's fault but Even with that defense if he's as good as they say he is then he'd score 30+ a game like Brees,Cam, and Rivers
You gotta feel sorry for Greg playing away some of the best years of his career with Rogers. Too bad he couldn't of played his whole career with Ponder. Oh, wait, if he had, we wouldn't even know his name. Maybe it wasn't sooo bad playing with "12". Look at the money he's still making talking about Rogers.
What a silly point by Sharpe. Rodgers put up career numbers with the WR's currently on the team minus James Jones. I admit there is something wrong, Rodgers looks like a QB that has gotten his bell rung a few to many times in the pocket. He needs better/more creative play calling & a faster paced offense for 60 minutes (entire game not just 2 quarters).
Everybody keeps pointing at Rodgers and the receiving corps for the poor plays recently but why hasn't anybody brought up the coaching staff? McCarthy and the rest of the coaches are doing a subpar job at best with the play calling. Predictable packages and under-utilization of a run game (I understand Lacy is injured). I'd say half the blame goes to the coaching staff.
He's demonstrating his knowledge of football, which is next to nothing. It's so hilarious how he blames the recent offensive struggles on not having Jennings or Driver. Guess the fool forgot that GB's prolific 2014 offense didn't have those two guys in there.
Interesting how when he was playing average all these experts bashed him at every turn.2 months later he's now a candidate for MVP.Stop hating on greatness.
John Plat I have to give it up to Dallas..let's stop making excuses for GB..Dallas defense is good period ..yes GB have some issues. the tables had turned GB had its glory days while Dallas was trying to get it together...give it up to Cowboys...thats coming from a Packers4life but more a football fan...see you again on the field Cows
Freddie Mills Freddie Mills not disagreeing Cowboys looked like absolute studs. Green Bay is broken though, just not the same team so far. Cowboys didnt have to worry TOO much about the run. We had 1 running back and he had a tweaked ankle, o line gave rodgers ALL DAY to pass and he missed easy throws that Dak would have made. Again Cowdoys defense came to play but also Last night wasnt the same green bay :/ im a sad pack fan but will support them. Good game Cowboys.
Exactly two future hall of fame QBs and he puts up stats. Then he goes to the vikings and dolphins what happened to his numbers? They went downhill, it was the QB that made Jennings look good not the other way around. Aaron Rodgers is cocky and arrogant but so is every other elite QB in the NFL.
I think with Fitzgerald it was a mixture of the hiring of Bruce Aryans as well as Carson Palmer. But I still don't think Greg Jennings should be bad mouthing the QB that gave him his best stat years. He could have mentioned the fumble by nelson or the coach calling a QB draw on first and goal or the three starting corners are injured. Aaron Rodgers definitely has not been himself but you can't ask a struggling QB to win with those circumstances. It's a team sport and for some reason Jennings has it all on Rodgers that they're losing.
Thank you Shannon, you spoke the truth about Rodgers. He is average, period. The way the media/analysts elevate QB is ridiculous. What if, WR, TE and RB do not catch the passes? I am so glad, this is happening...Stephen A. Smith, "he is a bad man", ESPN and NFL constant elevation...now, what! In team sports, you cannot single out one player...
You know guys I respect Aaron Rodgers but subtracting the year they won the Superbowl he never really convinced me of being the best in the NFL idk that's just my opinion.
And now Shannon is pro Aaron Rodgers lol. Lord i used to hate him speaking on Rodgers in 2016. Dude said if the defense gives up like 40 points it’s Rodgers job to score more than that so Ls in that season was his fault. Nowwww Shannon acknowledges how bad the defense has been
Good point by Shannon; Drivers gone, Jennings and Finely are also gone. Rogers is still there, McCarthy is still there and calling plays. Could it be that the baaaad man is getting exposed? Was it these skill players that made Aaron Rogers?
Does Greg Jennings not realise that he wouldn't be as good as he was without Aaron Rodgers that is disrespectful he averaged three more yards per catch in the years he played with Aaron Rodgers. We can clearly see that Aaron is not playing well but to say that he has not had enough blame placed on him over the years is wrong as this bad stretch is the first time that there is cause for concern with how the offense is doing.
Listening to Greg Jennings is hilarious. THIS guy thought he was above Rodgers and the Packers. He left because he thought he was worth more money and was proven wrong. He was a product of Favre and Rodgers. Jennings is in no position to throw any critique at Rodgers. Period.
This was the "Run the table " year wasn't it? Where Green Bay was one game away from the Super Bowl. Probably because Aaron Rodgers had something wrong with him.
Haha coming back a month later I like seeing all these idiots freaking out because Rodgers had TREMENDOUSLY turned his season around, no where close to dead last in any category now and is top 3 for QB's in fantasy, on pace for 40 td's, 10 picks, 3 TD's a game average, on pace for 4,000+ yards, and conception percentage is way better now
When Dallas smacks a team... immediately a critical Post-Mortem springs up about the OTHER TEAM. Bad QB play, poor receivers out of form, hobbled RB, banged up key players, bad coaching etc etc . Its never about Kudos to Dallas, their coaching and the team it has built.
I have respect for Rodgers but never have I looked at him and thought best ever, he fell under the Peyton Manning spot of being lights out amazing in the regular season but when it came to crunch time in January he just doesn't have what it takes
Unfortunately, Aaron rarely runs anymore as he's gotten older (the NFC championship game case-in-point) which has limited his effectiveness out-of-the-pocket.
He can't. He's just a drama queen drudging up old drama because his knowledge of football is non-existent. Either that or he got his head hit too many times and thinks Jennings and Driver were still playing on the Packers in 2014(and part of 2015 when the Packers were still doing well).
..and i also cnt believe there would be a show that i cnt wait to watch after NFL sunday more than i do Undisputed. First Take i still watch but Undisputed is really good cuz of Shannon. Hes so real, funny, and entertaining. haha
He's in slump and is not in sync with his team. Maybe the spotlight has alienated him from the rest of the Packers? Aaron's fundamentals are very poor. He's relying solely on talent. His footwork is sloppy and you gets too emotional on the field.
2 years and i STILL can't believe you wrote such a dumb comment...poor fundamentals?? Rodgers is still the best QB in the NFL. Sets his feet amazing arm, mechanics, accuracy, vision, CLUTCH. What were you smoking??
