OMFG. A simultaneous reminder of why Hendrix was and is my favourite endlessly creative guitar god, and rated so highly by everyone who knows what’s what, and why Greg Koch is the most amazing and currently underrated player in the entire cosmos!!!! Incredibly intricate and funky stuff. I'm always blown away by GK's improvs.
Sadly I have discovered this Man for about a year and a half. This guy is so amazing he can copy anyone and excel at it. I want to break his fingers 😂 Seriously though he has become my favorite guitarist and I hate him 😂
Greg Koch came through our little "burg", years ago. Played a little seminar, many guitarists came and enjoyed his vibe, his swagger. Greg is smooth as buttah....love you Greg Koch!!! Rock the F on brother..
I'm 4 minutes in and just freekin blown away! The biggest compliment I could give you is that I feel Jimmy would enjoy this and bestow his praises on you. And like in the comments, anybody who believes Hendrix playing is ok, mediocre, or overblown is a fool or worse. Just watching Greg play some deep cuts reminds me of Jimmys off the charts ability and Greg truly is top 3 if not the best in recreating Hendrix's music with a great vibe. The vibe is what puts this fantastic exhibit on another level! Did I mention that I f'n love this?! Lol
There's a lot to praise here. The performance of course - the whole band! I just love that they respect and present the Hendrix canon to 21st century audiences.
Greg is a bigger than average talent and human! This format with a great bass player and kick butt drummer highlights his seemingly unending stream of guitar brews! Who needs coffee!
Always musically entertaining, and the skill levels displayed are so "OH WOW!" Thank you for the on the sweet icing on the cake of life and the necessity covid isolation.
Fantastic show! Thank you for posting this! Turner The Burner is a wonderful addition to the band. Look forward to Toby being able to add keys to the mix on these jams.
This performance took me back to 1968-1970, and I thank you, K&K&T !! I got more emotional throughout it. Just the way to celebrate JMH's birthday... Keep it up you guys, you absolutely slayed, cut gristle, kissed the sky, winds are crying, and flipped the floppity in my mind!
Very cool! Anodyne really rings a bell for me. The band I played in way back when played 1 show in greater Milwaukee and am thinking it was there! Great show as always Greg and Co!
Wow! What amazing tone and recording! Every part of the mix is perfect! That's some fluidity! Amazing band! Hendrix is up in Heaven smiling! I have never seen Jimi topped on his own songs like this guy does, only Stevie Ray Vaughn comes to mind, and I think Greg plays better than Jimi. I hope Greg has a complement of originals I can here some day! So much music, so little time. Thank you for the amazing concert! Greg, I love your pallette of colors, but you would sound great straight out of the amp, no reverb the way you play!
His choice of tunes shows you how deep Greg is into Jimi. I am on the fourth song and none of them are singles or his better known recordings. Looking forward to the rest and maybe more from the BOG album? Who knows if he’ll play more from that! :)
Dude I love that tone. Nice playing. Head and shoulders above most, bud. Been watching wildwood for a while but never seen you play live. This is a treat.
Greg is Great ! Keep on Rocking that Smile ! Someday I hope that I can grow up and play like that ! Seems like there is nothing Greg can’t do on a Guitar !
I just nearly died laughing when he told his pedal to fuck off in Power of Soul. Holy shit I love the Gristle monster. Such a dude. The WInd Cried Gristle .. 😂🤣
His Gristlemaster seems so tiny in his hands ! in mine, the neck feels HUGE ! this guy is awesome !!! and he plays Hendrix without a vibrato and positions 2 and 4 of a strat !!! great guy !
Can you imagine this in a concert hall, proper lighting, visuals on a large screen, a great sound mix and a tech to change guitars each song to re tune? Would be epic
jimi as a veteran must have based some of his characters on his experiences. dragonflies, little wing. he was a paratrooper. thats gotta have an impact on your imagination. i was a sentry in the air force and i used to run songs thru my head while doing circles around B52s. fire and rain was my fav. pick up my axe and fight like a farmer, indeed.
Once saw Buddy Miles as the opener for Chicago... circa 1970/1971. Later on saw Buddy Miles Group in a few other places but never spent another dollar on Chicago.
Greg is great of course, but there is just nothing like that band of gypsys record. Power to love gets me every time in the beginning when jimi comes in with wah, instant stank face
Greatness. Embrace playing with your son. I started raising both my sons in 2011 as a single dad, a 10 and 7 year old. I taught them both how to play drums and for a while they were into it. I had the dream of a trio- me on guitar with them two as my drummers… Soon enough Lil Wayne and not John Bonham became their ‘hero and idol’ ffs🙄. Now the 10 year old is 21 and serving ten years in prison while luckily the 7 year old, 18 now, is graduated and going off to collage to study criminal forensics.😵💫 Now, back on my own again Im just wondering when the hell will the TripleGristle be available again…🤔
