Different strokes copied a few Brady Bunch episodes such as Arnold pretends to be very sick to meet Muhammad Ali like Bobby did to meet Joe Namath or like when Arnold and Willis divided their room in half when they had a fight like Peter and Bobby did. According to Todd Bridges this is because Different Strokes had a couple of writers that worked on The Brady Bunch.

How did Greg get chosen to keep the mascot at his house? Seems like a dumb immature thing to do just like the parents said. And a goat is gonna chew up everything. Greg better be prepared not only for "Raquel" to eat everything in his room but to leave a few stinky messes behind!
