Our housekeeper came to our home in the Philippines in 1960, two years before I was born. She became like a second mother to me and my three siblings. I was ecstatic when she was granted a visa to attend my wedding here in the US. I asked her to walk in with my mother at the ceremony. 1998, she retired and lived in her home province, but we continued to visit her regularly until she passed away in 2017. ❤
