You know Greg Valentine was never one of my favorite wrestlers but watching him comment about other wrestlers in his later years gave me a new outlook on this old guy. He is very respectful. Came in to do the job and did not get involved in the politics. Not once in any of his commentaries has he smash-mouthed anybody. He just tells it how it is and he seems to have a lot of respect for everyone he has done work with. You go Greg.

The 80’s were, without a doubt, the golden era of professional wrestling. For the most part, the heels stayed heels and the baby faces remained baby faces. I always favored the heels. I found them to be way more interesting and exciting than the baby faces. Also, these guys really knew how to work the crowds (on both sides). Even though you knew the matches were always predestined, they always put on a great show. The stuff they advertise as professional wrestling these days is absolute garbage. A guy can be a heel, a baby face, and then a heel again seemingly in the same 2 hour show.

I remember watching the JYD team up with either Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich or Ted Dibiase against the Fabulous Freebirds on TBS. That's when I got hooked on professional wrestling. He had those tights with the word THUMP on his backside and would come out to the music of Queen's Another One Bites the Dust.

Anyone remember when he was paired with Honky Tonk Man as rhythm and blues? He dyed his hair jet black and would do that little head shake when they “performed” hunka hunka honky love. Funny as hell.

I remember back in 2005, at this wrestling event in North Fremont, CA. There was some old school WWE wrestlers along with Hammer, who've I'd met; nice guy, down to earth. It was great and an blessing; also met some TNA wrestlers. Awesome fucking time!

Just a comment on how well Greg could perform. . . I’d have bet money ( if interviewed) he would have been a bastard. Watching these have been the high point for me, this is a MAN, not a bad word to say about anyone, so insightful- no question one of the finest people you could ever hope to meet. A class act.

This Greg Valentine is so much more entertaining than anything Vince ever had him do in the ring. The Hammer was an amazing worker, but that was his gimmick. No sizzle.

Tito was amazing that flying elbow move was an awesome move, not seen it done like this since, but this was when certain moves were not kicked out of unlike just about every other move these days.

Once met Mr Valentine at a world of wheels convention in Atlanta, it was Royal Rumble weekend 2010 and I had travelled from the UK, he was with HTM and Virgil..... he was extremely personable and was interested in the fact I grew up in the next town over from Davey Boy, when it came time to get autographs/pics Virgil tried to sting me for $60, Mr Velentine shot him a glance and the price quickly lowered to $20 for a group pic and autographs.... top guy, much respect for him.
