Gregg was so beautiful, seemed very laid back, quiet, shy, sweet, polite and a true southern gentleman. He was a great bluesmen and one of my favorite musicians. I miss him.
@@OldBiker54 I went to see the Laid Back Tour by myself. I couldn't find anyone to go with me, because they didn't think he would be good by himself. Boy, were they sorry they didn't go.
Omg. You are so right. I love his hairy chest 😂😂. He is freekin beautiful inside and out. ❤ him. I agree his voice is so soothing...id be asking him to read me a story every night. Id be out like a light. 😂😂
Listen....im a 40yr old ,strait male. But Greg Allman is thee most beautiful man inside and out ive ever seen. Lmao. I would have loved to be a fly on his wall in some of the crazy situations hes been in lol. I think theyve cut him short . Toatally underrated. His voice is like no other. Cannot be duplicated.
I was close friends with Gregg in the late 80s. I could write a book on some of the shit we did back then. Got a bunch of photos. A bunch of stories. He was the greatest friend you could ask for. He told me once, Do you know why I like you? It's because you don't ever want anything from me. I never wrote any of our stories. I've told a couple here and there but I always hesitated writing out of respect to his privacy. I live in the Daytona area. He was a great friend and a great soul. I guess you could say, I was that fly on the wall. Lol
Love you Gregg Allman...you will always be missed!! What a voice and talent...such a great guy and treated all people with respect!! Enjoy watching this so much!! As cool as anyone can be...RIP Gregg and Duane. 🙏♥️🌠
I’ve watched this interview so many times, plus any other that I can pull up. I never tire of his voice, stories and just looking at him, no matter what his age! 😉💯🍑🍄✌️♾
I had the luck of meeting him when I was 19 years old. I told him how much his music impacted my childhood (born in’82 so a bit late!) and my bond with my dad, and he was so sincere and genuine. He signed my album I carried around with me, and I stepped into his trailer and gave him a wholesome hug. I will never EVER forget that. ❤
This man had every reason in the world to be stuck up and convey a feeling of being one of the elite people on the earth with no time to talk to us little people. But. he’s one of the nicest, down to earth men rock ever produced. From his early years to his last big interview with Dan Rather Gregg is a guy I could hang with. A genuine decent human being .And god could he sing !
@@jacobhendrickson8935 Deffinately !! That song he played on his piano...WOW !!! So raw.. Gregg dosen't need any extra he is great just with him and his instrument. On coming traffic. (I think was the name)
Saw him live in Charlotte in the early 70s and stood right under his keyboard, mesmerized. Even now at age 83, I was in love with him all this time, through all his thick and thin. How could a woman not be?
…so much charisma & beauty, he could have led a big movement! Oh, but he did! 😉…love how detailed he is, the description of female, singer at Montys is precious, he doesn’t miss a beat!
So, I am 70 years old. In 1970, I was just about done drinking. Quit in 1973, nothing since. BUT before that, had 8 DUI's, numerous arrests for distribution etc. One night I went with a couple buddies of mine to a bar on Hertel Avenue in Buffalo. They had live music. Fully jammed, there were 300 people in there. I'm sitting at the bar, one of those old wood bars with a rolled edge to lean on as you sat on your swivel stool. Open stool to my left and right suddenly became occupied by Gregg and Duane. I had heard of them, but not much. We did about 3 shots of Jack Daniels and drafts each. They were in Buffalo to visit a guy I kinda knew...Brent James I think. He did custom Harley paint. Then they were headed to N.Y. to do a show at the Fillmore. They did a short show at this bar....Alliota's. The owner, (Alliota) refused to pay them the $250 he had promised for their performance, and their road manager ended up shooting and killing him. I see people here saying that they think Gregg was a true southern gentleman. I only know him from the words he has written (I'm sure I know every one). I do know that he and I have been down many of the same roads. Encountered the same crossroads. The songs he and Betts and Duanne wrote have been inspirational for me my whole life. He was a good man.
The Southern Gentleman is awesome, the voice is one I could listen to all day and so handsome, if you’re into hunky blondes, which I certainly am, Gregg is the ONE!🍊✝️☮️♾❤️
I was hoping Greg would have mentioned him literally shooting himself in the foot. He told me about it after a show in the tour bus. He had me rolling. It was a hell of a night.
I knew Gregg for a period of time around 1979….was not a groupie- everything you all have said about his calm, kind, gentlemanly nature rings true. He was in the midst of breaking up with Cher and having a bit of a rough time. All he wanted was to get a boat/live on it off of the Savannah coast, go fishing and live a quiet, peaceful life. He eventually did live in Savannah and was married to a really good woman. He never got over losing Duane.
Mullet? I see nothing but Gregg's same hairstyle from '71 til the end. Little shorter hair in front but no way a Billy Ray Cyrus mullet. Gorgeous Gregg as always!!
No he didn't, he wrote the song and had no name for it until he went in a grocery store and a woman was chasing a kid around the store yelling Melissa and that when it hit him thats what the name and title should be for the song.
@@lisafioravanti6503 sorry it was the Brady bunch episode when Melissa sue kissed Bobby. Gregg was high on heroin and he was so happy he wept tears of joy and then tripped on acid and watched Brady bunch episodes for three hours
@optics Colossal and Epic Video read his book it explains it all. My dad did sound and video of ABB and I on the road with my dad a lot and heard the story many many times. It's also in his book by the way.
Not true he wrote the song without even knowing a name or title to the song and he was in a store and a Spanish lady called after her granddaughter who was running rampant Melissa and that gave him the title for the song he wasn't thinking of anybody when he wrote it
