American jazz, blues singer, songwriter and actor Gregory Porter performed ''Don't Be A Fool'' from actual album ''Take Me to the Alley'' in German talk show ''Inas Nacht'' on Das Erste 12th november 2016
I met him in a hotel lobby in LA when I was doing a bass session with a band for a TV show spot. He was so gracious. He allowed me to take a photo with him.
I saw Gregory at the Mayflower theatre Southampton several years ago before his amazing talents were widely appreciated here. After the gig he was stood at the stand selling CDs and memorabilia, I joined the queue and when I got to the front of the line I said Sir I have all your albums but I just wanted to thank you for a fantastic evening. He looked a bit perplexed and then his face lit up and he just said Yeah real slow and with the widest friendliest smile as he shook my hand, not going to forget that any time soon.
Yes. I’m blessed to have been around him many times as I worked on the stage at a place he played several times. He is truly as nice as his voice. Really.
Music is universal i recently sang this song in Estonia and it was known crazy how music brings people together let it be known sing a song rather than fire a bullet its nicer and saves lives
@Semper fidelis Semper Paratus it isnt what English means its what all the top bands sing abba sang in English even though they didnt speak English its just the universal language and as far as Germany never had a problem they nearly all speak English even visitors from other countries were speaking English to able to corrispond
Was not expecting that. The very nice lady has a gifted voice and that duet was solid and beautiful. Mr. Porter you're a great vocalist. I love your runs and soulful tone slides. And of course the poetic poignancy. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
@Derrick Jensen Yes Sir I believe that Real Music can only come from the Soul . If you can make someone "Feel " the Music , then they will " Believe " the Music . He leaves absolutely no doubt to the listener , that he is singing a Real Life Experience. To be able to put your shortcomings down on paper , and then Sing them to the World , is a Gift to Humanity . Peace from America my Swedish Brother ☮️
That was wonderful, just wonderful to listen to. This lady complements all the singers she sings with on this show. I have not long come across this but love watching and listening 👍
Good advert for an universal world , such a lovely video , it absorbs understating and acceptance , nobody queries him speaking in a foreign language & everybody just enjoys the song . Which is a work of art
Who is listening in 2019? Man this is bada$$. She has a really nice voice to compliment Greg and Chip Crawford on keys. Gregory Porter could sing a flight delay and he would get a standing ovation.
I would do anything to sing alongside this great man, even if it's just a chorus to one of his songs. Love the way he gives meaning to each and every word he sings. He is just great!!!!
As long as we learn something from our mistakes , then all is not lost . We get up , clean up the mess we've made in our lives , and then move forward with the knowledge we gained . God Bless You ☮️
Here's a man who knows how to sing from the deep foutain wells of his very soul!!! Every word is alive! This is why his songs sometimes moves to tears those who listen to them.
Don't Be a Fool Songtext Don't be a fool Don't give your nights to someone else While giving days to those that really love you Don't be a fool like me And give your life to someone else While faking love to those who really love you Why couldn't I have realised The gravity of telling lies Who's weight now shoes upon your faceless mound I know your heart now and before But I won't do it anymore Trust in me and fall in love again Listen to these charms Cos' baby I'm not fooling And fall into these open arms of love Listen to these charms Cos' baby I'm not fooling And fall into these open arms of love Listen to these charms Cos' baby I'm not fooling around And fall into these open arms of love Why couldn't I have realised The gravity of tears in eyes Who's weight now shoes upon your faceless smile I broke your heart now and before But I won't do it anymore Trust in me and fall in love again Listen to these charms Cos' baby I'm not fooling And fall into these open arms of love Listen to these charms Cos' baby I'm not fooling And fall into these open arms of love Listen to these charms Cos' baby I'm not fooling around And fall into these open arms of love And fall into these open arms of love And fall into these open arms of love GREGORY YOU'RE JUST GREAT! Thank you for upload.
I think line nine may be wrong, or so it sounds to me. I think he sings ‘Who’s weight now shows upon your faceless smile.’ Either way it is sublime. Thank you for taking the time to write the lyrics out for us, though. Only trouble is when I join in I ruin everything! Peace and love to everyone in these crazy times.
Being native to Germany and bi-racial (German and African American), it makes me feel good to see how the German people still embrace real music. Unlike here in the States where appreciation for artists like Mr. Porter and for real music in general is no longer a concept.
His vòice and range paint such a beautiful picture. Just take look at the expressions of the crowd, both inside and outside of of the bar. His voice has captured their rapt attention. I've never witnessed a group of people so still and totally enraptured by what they were hearing. GP made a new base of fans with one unforgettable song in an unforgettable place.
