In her section in the 2009 character guide, she is described as a "self-proclaimed lady" and states that she thinks "God made a mistake" when she was assigned male at birth. On the same page, she says that she wants to get a sex change. Yana Toboso, said so many times in the manga and in interviews, that Grell is female. As well that Grell calls herself by female pronouns and correct people from calling her a "he" to a she. Grell, most likely, wasn't accepted for who she was, while she was a human, and had to hide her true self. Also, the fact that she could never be a female, regardless of how much she wanted to, most likely led to her suicide. /this is not meant to be mean just informative T~T
@@MapleShadeTheDoe Grell uses the pronoun He. As such it's fine. If Grell explicitly wanted to use female pronouns, why in the manga are we seeing the male one too? And it's not just to correct people either. I remember seeing it one panel referring himself to as he. So using He is fine too. grell isn't female. Even by being trans, only transwoman. Transwoman aren't women. Can use female pronouns, but are not the same as Bio women.
Idk the impression yall have of her here, but in the manga, Grell looks even more fabulous. Since I read it in french, it’s even much clearer that she identifies as a female since she uses the female pronoun (elle)

@@angelstar2538no. No she doesn’t. She has called herself a lady, woman, and maiden before. And she canonically goes by she/her (the other people only call her “him” due to it being a time period where they didn’t accept trans people)
